Did what to Parler?       The government shut it down?

No, that's not what happened to Parler.  What happened to Parler is that the market decided.  It was alleged that the product was used to coordinate the Jan 6 insurrection attempt, and so the market chose not to host the app (on the Apple App store, and so on) and then Amazon denied them web hosting.

The market decided.  That's different than the government shutting something down.

How is it not the market?  Corporations are people, apparently.  And the government doesn't didn't shut down Parker.  So, not the same thing.

Quote from: Rev. Powell on January 21, 2025, 02:01:50 AMThe more I read about this, the less I understand the rationale. Even if you don't use Tik Tok or care about the service, I think you should be skeptical of the government shutting down an entire service. Congress has a burden of proof to convince us this extraordinary step is merited and they've basically just said "trust us, they can do really bad stuff, we can't tell you what it is but trust us it's bad."

They did it to Parlor....

You mean Parler? The government didn't shut it down. Amazon canceled its hosting, then they found another host,tThen a private company bought it and shut it down and said it may relaunch.
