or Exorcist II

haha, well like I said earlier in the thread I'm kind of 'half and half' on that one... in the context of the franchise I understand the scorn.

I get why people didn't like it-but I've really come to appreciate Jupiter's Ascending more over the years. Better to be overly ambitious and fail, then be bland and boring.
At least, that's what Gary Busey told me...

Until I discovered the internet, I was completely mystified by how many people hated Mad Max...

hmm, need more info... do you mean the internet solved that mystery for you?

I never met anyone who disliked Mad Max. Now, Beyond Thunderdome is a different story... but I like them all, a lot.

I liked that in all its glorious silliness

I didn't like the first one when I was... 10. I'd seen ROAD WARRIOR first and was naive to expect that the original was going to top the sequel. It's also not a film made to please 10 year olds!

The Burgomaster

Quote from: zombie no.one on April 19, 2025, 03:43:17 PMone for me is THE AVENGERS (1998)

I hate, hate, hate this movie (yet, I own the DVD). The plot is incomprehensible and it has none of the charm of the original TV series. I watched it 3 times over a short period of time and still couldn't figure it out. Then I saw a copy of the screenplay and realized they had cut important scenes from the movie that would have explained a few things.
"Do not walk behind me, for I may not lead. Do not walk ahead of me, for I may not follow. Do not walk beside me either. Just pretty much leave me the hell alone."

Brain Donors (1992) - It's really stupid but it makes me laugh a lot. One critic said that trying to create a modern Marx Brothers film was a big mistake. The Marx Brothers are truly great but I wasn't offended that Turturro and company tried to emulate them. And Turturro can make me laugh just with his facial expressions.

It wasn't bad at all; in fact, I wish they'd made another one. I think it got some poor reviews at first, but it's aged well. It's got a 6.9 at IMDb.
