I'm looking for movie or episode for my friend. It' strange situation, because I found the same idea in the other episode from the other TV show, but it was older - 70s or 80s or 90s (because he watched this in 90s). I think about Breakout Kings and an episode entitled "Double Down".

According to this description:

QuoteTravis Muncey pretends to have forgotten to get an important package to the mailbox and is ordered by the warden to run ahead just before the last pick up. However, the package is full of butter packs he collected. Travis strips naked and slathers himself in butter in order to wriggle through the gratings.

I'm looking for movie or episode - but it isn't newer than 90s. The action took place entirely in prison or the protagonist was only there for a short time. In any case, there was an escape motive. The guy came up with a plan, but along the way he had to squeeze through vertical bars.He saved butter from his meals (he was alone in his cell). Finally, when he escaped, he undressed, smeared himself with the butter, and somehow squeezed through the bars in pain.

Wositelec, I appreciate your commitment to solving these many cinematic mysteries. I try to refrain from posting unless I have a good (and specific) hunch. Sadly, I don't have anything specific here. I am positive I've seen this scenario in a movie and/or TV show, however - and possibly several times in different titles. Most recently (and I know you specify it isn't so recent) prisoner Tom Hardy lathers himself in crisco or some similar solution in BRONSON - in order to be more slippery to fight a bunch of guards, not to slip through bars. I've seen the bars thing. I suspect it's something of a trope, though. Maybe that's good - if anyone remembers another (of several) titles, you can confirm or deny whether that's the one...
