"Free Electricity" by The Go. One of Jack White's first bands before he formed the White Strips, he left after one album. This was The Go's post-White follow-up. It was shelved by the label in 2001 (but fans circulated bootlegs) and just released now. It's actually good, not sure why Sub Pop didn't want to release it. Garage band/proto-punk/psychedelia rock that legitimately sounds like it could have been made in 1969.

I had this on cassette when it came out. Didn't realize how much I missed it!

Underground is a great song and sounded different to everything else on daytime radio, at the time

remember liking another single too...cannot remember if I checked the whole album

According to Google, "Where's Summer B.?" was a charting single in the UK, which seems strange to me because it wasn't a single here and I think it's one of the albums weaker tracks. I think the other minor hits here besides "Underground" were "Philosophy" and "Jackson Cannery." Now, I think my favorite might be "Alice Childress." I had forgotten the song, yet I immediately was able to hum along with the melody 25 years later.
