James Arness will be rampaging through an artic research station in the form of a  big carrot-man on Saturday at  1:15pm  Central  on TCM.

This occurs right after The Way West with Kirk Douglas, Robert Mitchum, and Richard Widmark at 11:00am . Also look for a young Sally Field and Jack Elam makes surprise appearance (at least for those who haven't seen it before).

Friday they will be showing The Black Cat with Lugosi and Karloff at 7:00 pm .

And you thought Trek isn't cool.

So, I guess we should keep watching the skies.......

Just kidding really, so wish I had TCM. It's not even on the digital cable programming grid in my area. I've seen Lugosi and Karloff in "The Raven" several times, but have yet to see "The Black Cat". The cast of "The Way West" makes me curious to see it.

Have any of you read "Who Goes There?" by John Campbell. It is the short story the Thing was based on.

I love Black Cat. There is a clip from it in the Monkees movie Head.
"How about the irony in that Beavis? Even the phone is dead."
Least I thing thats what Karloff says. I'll have to watch it again.

Unfortunatly I'll be working on Saturday.  Maybe I'll have to dust off the VCR

A bald man named Savalas visited me last night in a dream.  I think it was a Telly vision.

Yea, I've read it and the Carpenter version is truer to the source. Anyone can read it here   Who Goes There

And you thought Trek isn't cool.

I hear ya trek_geezer on THE WAY WEST. Just did a little research a imdb.com and the review are poor even with the good cast. Haven't seen this one and I may catch it one of these days, but not this week. Thanks for the heads up on Westerns even though.

"Supernatural, perhaps........Baloney, perhaps not." My favorite bit of "The Black Cat" used in "Head".
