Watchin tv this evening, a little idea for a game hit me.  Ya'll have probably done something like this before, at least on other boards.

It's a Degree of Separation Game, and is best illustrated with an example.

Name two movies (or tv shows) and the degree of separation.  For example:

That 70's Show, Saving Private Ryan.   Two degrees of sep.

Answer:

Debra Jo Rupp played Kitty Foreman in That 70's Show.  She also played Alice Knight Buffay in Friends, who was married to Giovanni Ribisi's character Frank JR.  Ribisi played Pvt. Irwin Wade in Saving Private Ryan.

Okay, so now someone can take Saving Private Ryan as their starting point.  Or start their own.

The only rule is that the SAME actor/director/whatever cannot be throughout the list; we don't just want a list of George Romero movies or something.

With the movie knowledge on this board, I bet there could be some really twisted puzzles!

Any takers?

Professor Hathaway: Up the voltage.

Every dead body that is not exterminated becomes one of them. It gets up and kills. The people it kills, get up and kill.

Jesus guys!

My answer would have been:

Vin Diesel to Walking Tall

to

Johnny Knoxville in Jackass

Impressive. Now, who can get us from Jackass to Fantastic Voyage in two steps?

JACKASS (cowritten by Spike Jonze)  -->  Fatboy Slim's "Weapon of Choice" video (directed by Spike Jonze)  -- > Christopher Walken who starred in said music video also appeared in the documentary "Terror in the Aisles" (1984)  -- > Donald Pleasance hosted said documentary and starred in FANTASTIC VOYAGE (1966).

I had to stretch for it and there's probably an easier route, but there you go.

AndyC

There's definitely a much more direct route.

1 Johnny Knoxville- Walking tall
2 The Rock- The Run Down
3 Christopher walken- Catch me if you can
4 James Brolin- Fantastic voyage
5 Donald Pleasence

Look past the principal actors.

Butterbean (if we can call Jackass a movie, we can call him an actor) was in Jackass. He was also in Chairman of the Board with Racquel Welch, who was in Fantastic Voyage.

Interesting that the most direct route from Jackass to a good movie is by way of a Carrot Top comedy.  Now, there must be all kinds of directions we can go from Fantastic Voyage.

Alright then.

Fantastic Voyage to Greased Lightning.
