Susan

Thanks for dangling the carrot in front of me scott, since i have no cable..lol
and this beind my favorite time of year for movies!

Ok i have to protest: AMC is American Movie CLASSICS. Who put "An American Werewolf in Paris" in the lineup? Do they not own the rights to Halloween 2? We don't really need Halloween 3 on the list but they really should have had a Halloween movie marathon, but I guess without 2 and 3 why bother.

Btw - is that Horror movie channel up yet? Seems I remember it was supposed to be up in October

Scott

I checked the Horror Channel website out recently as I was curious also and found that they are not on the air or at least they don't have a schedule yet on the web and I know that we don't get the Horror Channel yet.

I'm looking forward to viewing these films on AMC during the MONSTERFEST marathon. These are also the ones I haven't seen yet:

Dr. Renault's Secret
The Skull
Dr. Cyclops (might have seen it as a child)
The Undying Monster
Scars of Dracula (might have seen it)
The Beast Must Die
Horror of Frankenstein
The Devil's Rain (saw a part of it along time ago)
And Now the Screaming Starts!
Entertainment Weekly's Scariest Movies

I'm curious when their debut is - shouldn't be long actually, i'm sure it's this month. I'd like to see their lineup, if they're really going to be true to showing all types of horror films and shows.  Although in the beginning I'm sure they will. When the Sci-Fi channel first started, they aired alot of great stuff. But when they ran movies I don't seem to recall any, or at least as many commercials.

Scott

Yep, they were suppose to start in October or at Halloween. They should update how they are doing as far as broadcasting starts and what the problems are if any.

Susan

Wow - that lineup as Mimic II but not the first one. Sorry I'll miss Godzilla vs. the sea monster. I think that was the first Godzilla movie I ever saw.

Btw, speaking of Godzilla, I thought this was interesting:

conference to analyze legacy of godzilla

Scott

Just read the article. I tell you honestly I almost cried with joy in the theater after watching GODZILLA 2000 on the big screen. I watched them all on TV in the 70's and to see Godzilla on the big screen with that famous roar and destroying cities. I tell you the truth we went to see it the first night it came out and at the end the audience gave a most sincere applause. They were true Godzilla fans like myself and many of them brought their kids.

Also many Americans interest in the country of Japan may have been nurtured by Godzilla films. If I were in the neighborhood I would go to the conference.

I agree with you that "An American Werewolf in Paris" isn't a classic... but they have a few others on there that aren't either.

The Pinata movie is TERRIBLE!  Don't get me wrong- I'll watch it again- but it belongs more on UPN than AMC.

That sucks..AMC finally goes back to doing a good job with Halloween and I have no cable!

Oh well, maybe next year.

Over here in England we have horror channel which shows all sorts of b-movies  especially on halloween.

ED

Every year I long for Monsterfest, its the only chance I have to catch Kaiju on TV, without renting it.  However, they ALWAYS show the Godzilla stuff in the dead of night on a work day.  One year I was home sick and up all night anyway, best illness of my life.  I need a Godzilla/Gamera/Large Rubber-suited monster  on TV e-mail alert.

Mr. Hockstatter

Sounds good.  The house that dripped blood is something I haven't seen before, and Blood from the mummie's tomb is always worth another look.

Susan

In addition: Godzilla is getting a star on the Hollywood walk of fame.

Gee they took their sweet time giving him one. I wonder which costume they'll use?
