Sooo..what did you all think about it. I had to work so my hubby taped it for me. I had problems with parts of it. It tidied everything up..which I guess it was meant to do.

Spoilers below for those who haven't seen it yet...

It was ok, but I didn't like some of the things they did, especially killing off D'Argo, Jool and Sikouzu. I also didn't like that they made Sikouzu a spy. Chiana seemed a little 'off', like the actress had trouble getting back into character.

I thought the first half hour had too much of a rushed feeling, as they were trying to cram too much backstory into the script (I guess it was necessary for brand new viewers, or casual viewers, but I've been watching "Farscape" since day one and it felt a little sloppy and repetative to me.) But overall I think the miniseries was fantastic. I absolutely loved how it ended. They couldn't have wrapped the series up any better.

I hope the DVD clears up the go-nowhere Sikozu angle by adding a few extra minutes of explination. But even if it doesn't, I'm more than happy with The Peacekeeper Wars.

I also noticed that Gigi Edgley had trouble getting into her role as "Chiana" at first. Her voice, and the way she moved around, were both slightly different from the old TV episodes. But she eventually slipped back into character.

There were a few inconsistencies like that, as well as obvious make-up changes and rehashed actors playing different parts, but I could easily overlook all of that. I was just happy to see "Farscape" return.

Pretty good overall, kind of overblown and overly dramatic in parts.  I loved the big space battle between the Peacekeeper and Scaran fleets.  That definitely had style.

It was decent, but I did have problems with some of it. It felted rushed, as they tried to cram in so many plot points and returns by old characters. I wondered if they were trying to shoehorn in as much as possible of the story arc they probably had planned for the fifth season that didn't happen. The rapid racing back and forth between worlds, and meeting up with Jool just to kill her off so quickly, as examples. They were kind of cruel about killing off characters in service to the plot over the whole miniseries though. If the story had been allowed to play out over a whole season, or even a shorted season of say 13 or 8 episodes it might have been better. The miniseries amounted to a four episode arc, too short considering the result.

I too wished they had cleared up the fate of Sikozu and the doctor's translator, she seemed to still be alive when he found her, and he got a grin on his face like he had something in mind, but unless I missed it, they never cleared it up. Scorpius hinted at her "final mission" like maybe her had bobbytrapped her or was going to use her against the Scarans, and since she betrayed him (although I thought it was kind of obvious who the spy would be, she had never been entirely trustworthy on the show) I have a hard time seeing him leaving her alive unless he knew of a worse fate from letting her live.

I wouldn't have minded Dargo's death, if they hadn't made it so obvious and telegraphed it with him and Chiana make plans to run off to Rigel's empire and when John and Aeryn didn't have a real name in mind for if the kid was a boy. Once the child was born and they said it was a boy but didn't give him a name right away, I was certain there was a noble sacrifice on the way. Nice to see Joffi (sp?) come into his own, though. If there were any chance of a spin off (which there isn't really, too bad) I'd love to see the character return. I liked him and the Luxan commandos a lot. Even Staark (sp? again) wasn't irritating for once, and quite useful. Poor Harvey, I know he was a menace to John at times, but I'd grown rather fond of him.

Decent ending, at least they didn't do a get back to Earth cop-out ending. I realize that the wormhole threat was supposed to have cowed both sides into making peace. But somehow I can't see Scorpius giving up his schemes, especially since the leaders of both sides have "blinked".

Overall, I was glad to have an ending to the series, even if rushed and over loaded storywise, that looked so good visually. One exception during the scene where everyone was jumping into the dock web from Moya, right before the jump Rigel hovers across the frame with the baby, very fake looking.

That part you mentioned, about Rygel hovering off the edge to be picked up by Moya's docking web, was an extremely weak special effect. I had forgot to mention that in my earlier post. But thankfully it was the only bad effect to be seen.

You're right, nobody, that was the only really bad effect to be found, which made it all the more jarring. The shot right after where they actually leaped onto the docking web was so seamless too, cinema-worthy pretty much.

It'll be out on DVD soon- January 19th I believe. And it'll be complete with scenes Sci-Fi didn't air. If I were you I'd wait for that.
