ok...just got this game called Katamari Damacy...the story begins with a psychadelic array of rainbows, pandas, mushrooms, and a god like being.

you play as an alien who has a ball with suction cups on it. you roll the ball around, picking up small objects, like matches, fleas, tacks, etc and can eventually work your way up to cats, dogs, people, cars, trees, houses, etc.

it is so simple and addictive...just like early video games...as you proceed, the game logs everything you pick up and gives a funny description of them...clicking on animals you have picked up results in a sample of their "voices"

once you roll up the required amount of things, the god like being then turns them into stars and constellations, since all starts mysteriously disappeared at the beginning of the game...

this new game is only 20 bucks...i HIGHLY recommend it.

oops...it's a KONAMI release for PS2

to ad...i;'m still coming back to this one for short amusing plays...the music...cheesy cut scenes...and ever changing and diverse environments is addictive...i still remember when i first got my ball of stuff rolled large enough to pick up people lying in the sand at the beach...their cries of "mercy" where hilarious...i mean, if you were at the beach and a ball rolled over you, picking you up where you were, would it suffice to exclaim "whu!---whu!---ahhh!---EEEEE!!!"?

Sounds like a fun time waster.

I would pick it up, but considering that my PS2 is currently in like 5 pieces....probably not a great idea.

Henry,

My daughter pulled on the controller cord and the PS2 fell about half a foot to the floor.  Then the drive wouldn't open.  So I decided one night to pop it open and fix it.

I got the drive working, but then the ribbon for the power cord pulled out.  I'm not sure if you've ever seen the inside of a PS2 but there are small ribbons running everywhere.  One for the cd drive, one for the power, etc.

In finally after hours of trying, get the power ribbon back in the proper slot.  Then the ribbons for the CD drive pulled out.....

I finally got those back in and now the drive is doing the same thing it was originally.  I finally gave up before I smashed it all to hell.  LOL

I'm now just using my GameCube.

sounds like me and my old cd player...and my recent used record player purchase...tried replacing needles...bad idea...you gotta know when to stop and just walk away...hey, now you can buy one of those new tiny ps2s coming out, though not compatible with the hard drive add on...

And this is why the X-box controllers rock!  Those break-away cables have saved my X-box on many an occasion.  Maybe PS2 and Game Cube 3rd party hardware developers should look into adding break-away cables the their products. (and hope microsoft doesn't sue)

Meh.

If I was smart, I would have bought a wireless controller after buying the PS2.

And Mr. Henry, the new PSP handheld is next on my list.  A handheld PS2?  How could I not buy that!?
