There have been a few Western films that were directed by Horror directors or Horror actors involved with a Western film. Here are a few that did both:

Ed Wood - Directed a Western called STREETS OF LARADO.

William Castle - Directed a Western called FORT T.

Roger  Corman - Directed FIVE GUNS WEST and THE SHOOTING.

Mario Bava - Directed a Western called FOUR OF THE APOCALYPSE.

Christopher Lee - Co-starred in a Western called HANNIE CAULDER.

Vincent Price - Starred in a South African Frontier film called THE JACKELS.

Archie Hall Jr. - Starred in a Western called DEADWOOD 76.

Jack Palance - Jumped  across in a few films also.

Lucio Fulci directed a few spahgetti westerns before his horror films. He directed another Four of the Apocolypse (probably a knockoff), The Silver Saddle, and Colt Concert in the 70's before Zombie Flesh Eaters, Gates of Hell, the Beyond etc. I have'nt seen his westerns though. I hear they're pretty bad.

Didn't Lon Chaney, Jr., also have a role in High Noon?

Also, Roger Corman directed his share of Westerns, notably The Gunslinger.

Lon Chaney, Jr. also starred in BATTLES OF CHIEF PONTIAC which was produced by none other than Herman (I WAS A TEENAGE WEREWOLF) Cohen.  Cohen actually did quite a few westerns in addition to his better known Horror output.

Yes, he did, and it is regarded as being one of his better performances.

And let us not forget that classic horror western from 1959 w/ horror stars Michael Pate and John Hoyt, "Curse of the Undead."  Also starring Eric Fleming, Kathleen Crowley, Bruce Gordon, and Edward Binns.

Wow, CURSE OF THE UNDEAD sounds like a good one BoyScoutKevin. Will have to put it on my list. Just saw some fair reviews on that film on imdb.
