Just got back from a comic convention

and bought a crap load of DVDs. Usually when I got to coventions I buy comics or statues but this time since I had nothing on my list for those so it was DVD time. Here some I bought and I will be doing reviews of them and posting them on the board (well some of them):

Fighter in the wind- Korean martial arts film

Gozu- saw in the movies decied to pick up.

Cannibal Holocaust- I heard alot on this from this board about this movie so I decied to pick it up.

Ong Bak- other martial arts film

Oldboy- Great film. saw it at a friends house decied to get it.

Casshern- Sci Fi CGI fest but its looks good.

Godzilla Tokyo SOS- Its Godzilla. enough said.

Cutie Honey- two words HONEY FLASH

Scfi and horror shorts - independent made films. two that stand out so far it Freddy vs ghostbusters and punisher vs wolverine

Aeon Flux vol. 2 and3- Had on VHS got it on DVD.

Gantz and Paranoid Agent- Animes

Also I saw Kill Bill Vol.1 color version of the fight with the Crazy 88s and lots of former playboy playmates.

You made out extremely well.  Here's my rundown of the flick's I've seen / know of.

Oldboy - By far one of the BEST foreign films I've ever seen.  Ordered it from Ebay a while back and it's definently my favorite film of last year (followed closely by Haute Tension).  Great storyline, action, and a kick in the balls ending.  I have a review of it on my site: http://keeptheticket.com

Ong Bak - Dude.  Tell me you've watched this.  Phanom Yeerum is by far the BEST martial artist I've ever seen.  I mean EVER.  This guy puts Jet Li, Jackie Chan, and Bruce Lee to shame.  You probably picked up the original version.  Seems that Luc Besson bought the rights and cut it into his own film which is supposed to be FAR superior.  We should be seeing it over here within a few months.

Casshern - Another great foreign flick.  I downloaded a Japanese DVD rip of it a few weeks back and was blown away.  You will not be disappointed in it at all.  Blows all modern American SF (yes, even The Matrix) right out of the water.


Anyway, please post back what you think about the flicks.  You had some great finds there.

I will Skaboi. I plan to do some in depth reviews. I like to get more people into Asian/ Foregien movies and hope the views we do get more people watching them.

As for Ong Bak it going to hit the movies sometime in feb. Skaboi. I bought the DVD actually foregot that it was hitting the theatres.
