"Red Cockroaches" is truly the worst movie I've ever seen.

I would appreciate the reviews of new films and DVD releases; genre, marginal, independent, underground and microcinema films. And of course articles, interviews and news.

Best wishes,

Esa Linna, if you want gore:

Check out Bad Taste and Braindead/Dead Alive. Both by Peter Jackson, NOT for the squeamish. I am suggesting these because you had some Takashi Miike films there.

How hardcore are his films?

Esa Linna

Miike films which are featured in EMVG, are not there because of gore and extreme violence. For example Bird People in China is a wonderful drama, with a heart.

Thanks for the suggestions. Bad Taste and Braindead are terrific films (saw them both rather quick after they were released), but I don't think that I don't have anything else to add to numerous reviews of 'em.

Also, I try from now on focus on new DVD releases and new films in general.

Sorry about that, Esa.

"but I don't think that I don't have anything else to add to numerous reviews of 'em. "

Of course I meant that:

... but I think that I don't have anything else to add to numerous reviews of 'em.

Sorry..

Jack Corbett

Nah, I was apologising because I thought you were looking for gore flicks.

I just misunderstood what you meant.

Esa Linna

It's allright :-)

Hey, speaking of gore .. one hell af gore flick is Canadian "Sinners and Saints". The review is at:

Well, I don't watch every single Gore flick that there is. i haave certain things that i like about them; I can't explain it. Technically I only watch splatter flicks if:

A. They get a good rating on IMDb,
B. They have been praised by many, many people
C. One of my (many) friends has seen/ows a movie and says it is good, and
D. I watch and I like.

What is Sinners and Saints like anyway?

NOTE: Horror flicks I like:

Undead
Braindead
28 Days Later
The Evil Dead
Evil Dead II
Army of Darkness

and a couple of others I can't remember right now.
