Anyone else seen this film?
I loved it. Intelligent, well-acted and with really excellent creature effects. Sure it has similarities to the vastly overhyped "alien" but lifeform is way more intelligent and interesting than alien ever was.
Any opinion on this film?

Fearless Freep

I saw it.  It was okay for some mindless entertainment.

This one really irritated me in it's portayal of the interation between the scientists and the military people.

It didn't stand out to me as particularly better or worse than a dozen other knock-off Alien clones

Mindless entertainment? huh? this is probably one of the most intelligent direct-to-video flick out there. What did you find "mindless" about it?

Menard

Mindless entertainment is my most loved artform. I can understand it better than any other ( :

Fearless Freep

Hey, mindless entertainment can be fun..it's why I'm here :)

As for Lifeform, I can remember thinking as I watched "What idiot  gave these people guns and how did these officers ger promoted past the level of hall monitor and why do all these movies have scientists with  their heads so far in their pocket protectors that they're impossible to work with?"  The whole "scientists want to do one thing and military wants to do the other and they don't get along and don't trust each other" schtick was a bit laborious to sit through one more time in my life.

And the computer interface deal gave me ID4 flashbacks of Oh, get real!"

Granted, for a DTV 'monster on the loose' offering, they tried to at least put some rational thought into how the monster go their and what it's motivations were (much better than, say, "Creepazoids"), but it never really managed to get much beyond  that.  Like many B movies, had a interesting thought but not quite enough (budget and writing skill)  to put enough of that thought on the screen so it ended up being another "trapped with the monster (and half the humans don't like the other half)" offering

Hey, don't get me wrong, I really enjoy watching stupid stuff, and can get entertainment out of it and sorta go with it for an hour and a half.  But I don't have an illusion about what it usually is

GreyWizard of Uknown Movies did a review of Lifeform quite awhile ago

I know, that's about the only review for it out there.

Can anyone get me any images (gifs, jpgs, bmps) of photos or drawings of the alien in the movie?

Tiben

Mr. Hockstatter

It was a nice little B movie.  It had an interesting way of getting the creature back to earth, but like somebody else said, it soon descended into a bunch of military types arguing with the scientists while trapped in a building while the nuke counts down to detonation.  Interesting little twist with the guy they thought was infected with an alien virus actually just having a bad appendix or whatever.

Cheecky-Monkey

Sorry, but I can't get a pic of the alien.
The film is very rare, I've searched for a pic of the creature myself for a computer desk top but found nothing. Want me to describe it for you, though?

Here's a shot of the cover, closest thing to showing the creature on the web. Sorry.

Tiben

Cheecky-Monkey,

Thanks for offering to describe the alien and thanks for the url to the cover. I have seen the movie once before but I was really wanting a pic of the alien for my desktop wallpaper too. Thanks anyway. :)
