Does anyone know anything about the remake of Billy Jack with Keanu Reeves and when it will be released?

I haven't heard news on this in a looong time. Is it even still on?

There isn't really any news on this.  I'm pretty sure it's just a pipedream...

A bald man named Savalas visited me last night in a dream.  I think it was a Telly vision.

Are you kidding? Keanu Reeves as Billy Jack sounds like one hilariously bad movie. I'd pay to see it.

Here is yet ANOTHER movie that should not be remade.  BILLY JACK was all about the "counterculture" of the early 1970s and is full of commentary about the politics of the time.  Updating it simply will not work.

...But ya know, AndyC may be right. Could you picture Keanu as Billy Jack? However, you must picture him as he was from his Bill and Ted days...t'would be priceless.

Keanu Reeves as Billy Jack? Yet another role as a faux-humble warrior dedicated to peace yet he's a major ass kicker who speaks psuedo-philosophical jibberish in a bland monotone for the "Whoa."-dude himself. Sounds like speculation or wishful thinking based on people having watched his recent film roles.

But I'd see it just to see how they tried to update a film that was such a product of it's era, became dated so quickly, and seemed to be a vanity project/ego trip for Tom Laughlin and his family that became a cult phenomena.

One of those potential train wrecks that you can't look away from.
