BlackAngel

I read an article in a magazine which is really a debate on the best this and the worst that.  Most of which I can agree or disagree with.  Here's the skins and bones of it:

Best Hero, Spider-Man or Wolverine
Winner: Wolverine (I disagree)

Best Villain, Magneto or The Joker (played by Ian McKellen and Jack Nickolson repsectively)
Winner: Magneto (I agree)

Best Director, Bryan Singer or Sam Raimi
Winner: Singer (Still a tough call)

Best Spidey Villian, Green Goblin or Doc  Ock
Winner: Green Goblin ( I disagree)

Best Supporting Character, Harry Osborn (James Franco) or Nightcrawler (Alan Cummings)
Winner: Nightcrawler (agree)

Best Cult Movie, Blade or The Crow
Winner: Blade (agree)

Hottest Chick in Spandex, Rebecca Romijn (Mystique) or Michelle Pfeiffer (Catwoman)
Winner: Pfeiffer (disagree)

Best Fight, Spidey vs. Doc Ock or Wolverine vs. Army
Winner: Spidey vs. Doc Ock (agree)

Best Batman, Val Kilmer or Michael Keaton
Winner: Kilmer (disagree)

Worst Heroine, Batgirl (Alicia Silverstone) or Supergirl (Helen Slater)
Winner: Batgirl (hell yeah!)

Best Indie Film, American Splendor or Ghost World
Winner: American Splendor (didn't see either)

Worst Bat Villain, Mr. Freeze ( the Governator) or Two-Face (Tommy Lee Jones)
Winner: Mr. Freeze (agree)

Worst Movie, Catwoman or Hulk
Winner: Catwoman (If anyone says otherwise, needs to be shot in the nuts!)

Best Editor, Perry White (Jackie Cooper) or J. Jonah Jameson (J.K. Simmons)
Winner: Jameson (agree)

Best Jen Connelly apperance, The Rocketeer or Hulk
Winner: The Rocketeer (agree)

Best Apperance by a NBA player, Shaq (Steel) or Wilt Chamberlain (Conan the Destroyer)
Winner: Chamberlain (I only saw Steel, but you can still kill me for mercy)

Best  Musical Theme, Danny Elfman's Batman or John Williams' Superman
Winner: Batman (disagree)

Best Resume Regret, Naomi Watts in Tank Girl or Faye Dunaway in Supergirl
Winner: Watts (didn't see Tank Girl to tell you)

Worst Appearance By a Relative of Someone Famous,
Helen Slater (sister or Christian) in Supergirl or Matt Salinger (son of J.D.*) in Capain America
Winner: Salinger (agree)

Best Appearance By a Wrestler, Randy "Macho Man" Savage (Spider-Man) or Kevin Nash ( Punisher)
Winner: Nash (can't tell)

Hottest Chick Stuck In The Worst Movie, Diane Lane (Judge Dredd) or Heather Lockear ( Swamp Thing)
Winner: Locklear (agree)

Worst Comedic Appearance, Jon Cryer ( Superman IV) or Rob Schneider (Judge Dredd)
Winner: Schneider (agree)

Best Cleavage, Heather Graham (From Hell) or Adrienne Barbeau (Swamp Thing)
Winner: Graham (can't tell)

Best Stan Lee Appearance, Daredevil or Spider-Man
Winner: Spider-Man (don't care)

Worst Director, Joel Schumacher (Batman & Robin) or Joel Schumacher (Batman Forever)
Losers: Us (I'm dying inside, someone hold me)

Whew!  Well, that's it, and one more thing, if it's a joke, it's a cruel one.  But, if it's not, then I think a trend is about to start here.  It started after Superman II, then after Batman Returns.  Now, that X-Men 3 is in pre-production, rumor (just rumor) has it that Joel Schumacher (again) might direct. Y'all know what this mean?  We might see Hugh Jackman in the old yellow and blue tights WITH nipples and extra padding in the crotch (Lord help us)

Bulls**t!  I still can't hear you.  Sound off like you gotta pair

I forgot one more entry:
Best Film, Spider-Man or X2
Winner: X2 (agree)

And J.D., as in, J.D. Salinger, author of Catcher in the Rye.

I have alot of agrees and disagrees

Mainly:
1. Best Cult Movie, Blade or The Crow
Winner: Blade (agree)
*Totally the Crow as far as film goes it's better and as far as "cult" I think it has a stronger following

2. Best Batman, Val Kilmer or Michael Keaton
Winner: Kilmer (disagree)
*I agree with you're disagreement there, Keaton all the way.

3. Best Musical Theme, Danny Elfman's Batman or John Williams' Superman
Winner: Batman (disagree)
*I gotta agree with them there Batman was a great soundtrack, than again, Danny Elfman rules

4. Best Appearance By a Wrestler, Randy "Macho Man" Savage (Spider-Man) or Kevin Nash ( Punisher)
Winner: Nash (can't tell)
*BONESAW!!!!!!!!!!!!!

5. Best Stan Lee Appearance, Daredevil or Spider-Man
Winner: Spider-Man (don't care)
*It should be for option 3...MALLRATS

Eirik

Best Hero, Spider-Man or Wolverine
Winner: Wolverine (I disagree)
---CORRECT ANSWER: Rage, played by Ben Stiller

Best Villain, Magneto or The Joker (played by Ian McKellen and Jack Nickolson repsectively)
Winner: Magneto (I agree)
----Magneto?  Come on, man.  Nothing against McKellan, he was pretty good, but he didn't come close to Nicholson...  I mean think about it - disillusioned, bitter holocost survivor...  or criminally insane madman made even MORE criminally insane by cartoon version of toxic waste?  Magneto was out to mutate people, Joker wanted then dead.  Joker in a walk.

Best Spidey Villian, Green Goblin or Doc Ock
Winner: Green Goblin ( I disagree)
----I didn't like either of them.  Frankly I found the guy who killed his uncle to be more menacing and compelling.

Best Supporting Character, Harry Osborn (James Franco) or Nightcrawler (Alan Cummings)
Winner: Nightcrawler (agree)
-----What??  Chris O'Donnell wasn't nominated???  (I'm kidding)

Best Cult Movie, Blade or The Crow
Winner: Blade (agree)
-----Buckaroo Banzai, man.  The Crow?  A two hour sad clown impersonation for the goth crowd?  No thanks.

Hottest Chick in Spandex, Rebecca Romijn (Mystique) or Michelle Pfeiffer (Catwoman)
Winner: Pfeiffer (disagree)
----- I disagree too.  Pfeiffer only won because she didn't have a blue face.

Best Fight, Spidey vs. Doc Ock or Wolverine vs. Army
Winner: Spidey vs. Doc Ock (agree)
-----Um...  Rocky IV against Ivan Drago anyone??  Oh wait, superheroes.  Right.  Sorry.

Best Batman, Val Kilmer or Michael Keaton
Winner: Kilmer (disagree)
-----What does it say about a franchise when Mr. Mom was the best Batman?

Worst Heroine, Batgirl (Alicia Silverstone) or Supergirl (Helen Slater)
Winner: Batgirl (hell yeah!)
------What about that girl in X-Men whose only power is to suck the life out of anyone she touches?  That and cower like a wuss.

Best Indie Film, American Splendor or Ghost World
Winner: American Splendor (didn't see either)
------What does that have to do with superheroes?  And the correct answer is Clerks.

Worst Bat Villain, Mr. Freeze ( the Governator) or Two-Face (Tommy Lee Jones)
Winner: Mr. Freeze (agree)
------How about the excreble Jim Carrey as Riddler?  He gets my nod.

Worst Movie, Catwoman or Hulk
Winner: Catwoman (If anyone says otherwise, needs to be shot in the nuts!)
-----I haven't seen either of those films and I agree.

Best Editor, Perry White (Jackie Cooper) or J. Jonah Jameson (J.K. Simmons)
Winner: Jameson (agree)
-----Yeah, the Superman guy was lame.

Best Jen Connelly apperance, The Rocketeer or Hulk
Winner: The Rocketeer (agree)
------CORRECT ANSWER: Mulholland Falls

Best Apperance by a NBA player, Shaq (Steel) or Wilt Chamberlain (Conan the Destroyer)
Winner: Chamberlain (I only saw Steel, but you can still kill me for mercy)
-----  MJ in Space Jam - totally dissed.

Best Musical Theme, Danny Elfman's Batman or John Williams' Superman
Winner: Batman (disagree)
------Give it to Elfman.  That Superman theme was stuck in my head from 1980 through 1987.  It almost drove me mad.

Best Resume Regret, Naomi Watts in Tank Girl or Faye Dunaway in Supergirl
Winner: Watts (didn't see Tank Girl to tell you)
------Back to Chris O'Donnell, has anyone SEEN that guy since Batman and Robin?  His career was totally levelled in that crash, he has to get best regret.

Worst Appearance By a Relative of Someone Famous,
Helen Slater (sister or Christian) in Supergirl or Matt Salinger (son of J.D.*) in Capain America
Winner: Salinger (agree)
-----J.D. Salinger must have been so proud of his family's continuing contribution to our culture.

Best Appearance By a Wrestler, Randy "Macho Man" Savage (Spider-Man) or Kevin Nash ( Punisher)
Winner: Nash (can't tell)
------Don't know any wrestlers except Hulk Hogan and Andre the Giant.

Hottest Chick Stuck In The Worst Movie, Diane Lane (Judge Dredd) or Heather Lockear ( Swamp Thing)
Winner: Locklear (agree)
------I think Diane Lane is hotter and Swamp Thing is better than Judge Dredd, so I don't understand their conclusion at all.  This will all be a moot point after Elisha Cuthbert plays Betty in next Summer's Archie and Jugghead Movie.

Worst Comedic Appearance, Jon Cryer ( Superman IV) or Rob Schneider (Judge Dredd)
Winner: Schneider (agree)
-----How can anyone argue that there exists on film a worse comedic performance than John Cryer in Superman IV?  Astonishing!  I would also add Richard Pryor in Superman III as the MOST DISAPPOINTING COMEDIC PERFORMANCE.

Best Cleavage, Heather Graham (From Hell) or Adrienne Barbeau (Swamp Thing)
Winner: Graham (can't tell)
-----Utter insanity.  Graham certainly is better looking overall, but Barbeau's girls put hers to shame.  Was From Hell a comic book?

Best Stan Lee Appearance, Daredevil or Spider-Man
Winner: Spider-Man (don't care)
------I have a vague idea that that's the guy who invented those characters, but I have no idea who he played in either movie.

Worst Director, Joel Schumacher (Batman & Robin) or Joel Schumacher (Batman Forever)
Losers: Us (I'm dying inside, someone hold me)
------That poor guy is just getting picked on just because he directed the two worst-directed comic book movies ever.

saintmort

Best Indie Film, American Splendor or Ghost World
Winner: American Splendor (didn't see either)
------What does that have to do with superheroes? And the correct answer is Clerks.

I wondered the same thing till I remembered that they were both Comic Books First

Vermin Boy

Of COURSE the most controversial category is "Best Cult Film," especially 'round these parts. Personally, I'd say Cemetery Man, with honorable mentions to Howard the Duck and Roger Corman's Fantastic Four. Not a bad list, though I am dissapointed by the absence of Mystery Men (and I am totally serious).
