I gotta say that, HARLEY DAVIDSON AND THE MARLBORO MAN is an amazing turkey.  I thought it was fun.

I liked SIN CITY, but it kind of goes downhill after the Marv sequence...not bad, just not as good.   Still, I liked the way it brought such dark material to a mainstream film.

OK!!!!! I saw this yesterday and though I never read the graphic novel, I loved the Hell out of this movie. I wanted to turn around and see it again right away but my wife wanted to see Amityville Horror (the grandparents had my daughter for the day so we took advantage by going to the movies). This movie was so well done...the acting, the violence, the visuals, the stories. What can I say that hasn't already been said? It played out exactly like a comic book would play if transfered to a movie. I have read Millers Dark Knight series so I'm not new to his work but now I think I'll have to try and search this out.

Question:
Is this movie as it plays out, one graphic novel or is it just one in a whole ongoing series?

Odinn,

Glad to hear you enjoyed it!  The film is actually 3 of the novels mixed together.  I'm trying to remember the names of each:

The Big Fat Kill
.......
That Yellow Bastard

Can't remember the title of the second story.  Although the film covers all of the Sin City universe, Miller has said that if the movie made enough bank (which it did) then he and Rodriguez would quite possibly make a sequel.

BTW, how was Ammityville?  My wife and I have been trying to find some time to see it but have been unable to.

A bald man named Savalas visited me last night in a dream.  I think it was a Telly vision.

Thanks Skaboi, I will have to see if I can find them.

As far as Amityville goes, I will post about it under the  "Ebert & Roeper give AMITYVILLE the finger" topic so as not to throw this one off which I'm usually guilty of doing.

The other one (Marv's story) is "The Hard Goodbye." You can find them at your local Barnes & Noble; I've read The Hard Goodbye so far, and it really is uncanny how close they stuck to the source. And from what I heard, Rodriguez has definite plans to shoot the entire series-- Johnny Depp is already on board for the next one.
