Click here for a life size Han Solo in carbonite made from Legos.

And you thought Trek isn't cool.

That's nothing. You should see the life sized Death Star I made with popsicle sticks and the Star Destroyer with beer cans.

I saw a show not to long ago about various toys, including one segment on Legos.  It turns out that Lego employes "Lego Artists," in other words, there are people who get paid to play with legos.   Damn I want one of those jobs.

Leggos shmeggos - I have a friend who works for the military testing various firearms and antitank weapons.  Sometimes they get to blow up old tanks.  Unfortunately, you have to be good at math or physics or something.  Why didn't they tell me about this position when I was blowing off algebra homework in the 6th grade?

I see you are trying hard, but I won't feel envious of those Star Wars merchandising you people grab now and then. Because in my bedroom, for my own enjoyment, there's the one and only surviving issue of the calendar Princess Leia made for the benefit of the soldiers stationed at Hoth. And I can tell you they weren't cold at night.

Now give me toilet paper with the face of Jar Jar Binks and I'll be a happy man.

Hey, does anybody remember Toggl's (sp)? Little cubes with trap doors, build endless variety of crap with them?  I think Mattel made them.

Some people like cupcakes better--I for one care less for them

raj

Yes, I remember Toggls.  Used to have a bunch of them.  Cool toy.

I used to play with a similar construction game very similar to Lego, but with smaller pieces. It was called TENTE and distributed around middle eighties. It was amazing, could build anything from ships to chopters, tanks and armored vehicles... the hours that I would spent mixing different models or trying to figure out new variations. Ah, the memories...
