ever put in a movie and after ten minutes you just know
the director has specific and major issues?

example: i saw "blood diner" for the first time and within 20 minutes
the word "schlong" was used at least 12 times and numerous topless
chicks were sliced up...and in a mean way...(ahem)...a not fun and icky feeling kind of way...

(side note: blood diner was directed by a woman i think..go figure).

Chris

i saw a french film called "I Stand Alone." I think the director of it definitely had some anger and alienation issues.

Mofo Rising

I don't know if I agree with you on BLOOD DINER.  I think the director knew what he/she was doing, and just wanted to make a movie that was completely over the top in terms of bad taste.

However, I will nominate DESECRATION by Dante Tomaselli.  A little no-budget production about a boy in Catholic school being chased by his zombie-nun mother.  It also features scenes of demon clowns molesting a nun in a graveyard and a grown boy wearing a diaper in a cage.  The director definitely has issues.

Yeah, what is it about Catholic directors and the nun "issue." You have Ken Russell and his nun orgy in "The Devils" and his nun rape in "Lair of the White Worm." Then you have the Italian Joe D'Amato and another nun rape in his "2020
Texas Gladiators." Certainly, those two directors had an '"issue" with nuns.

Let's not forget Abel Ferrea's Bad Lieutenant.

C. Hill

Most b-movie directors seem to have some definite issues with women.  Also, anyone who's ever directed an Italian zombie movie has serious issues.  Have you guys noticed that you can't have an Italian zombie movie without at least one woman's breasts getting bitten off?

Lee

Spike Lee, now there is somebody with issues!

Chris

have you ever seen the eighties slasher flick "Maniac", now there's a movie with some weird views on women. good FX though by tom savini.

Chadzilla

Got the limited edition tin from Anchor Bay, great piece of sleaze.  Joe Spinell's performance is frighteningly accurate.   Frank Zito definitely had issues.

BoyScoutKevine

Of course. I forgot the director with the biggest "nun issue," Michele Soavi. Who has Dellamorte (Rupert Everett) shoot two nuns in "Cemetery Man." One a nun zombie in the hospital and the non-zombie nun in the hospital.

Chris

ha ha, right on, yeah i saw the version you're talking about at best buy, but i couldn;t bring myself to waste the money on it. i never thought anyone else even heard of that movie on this site, maybe you shoud write up a review for it. p.s. the "date scene" is a milestone in gore cinema.
