Name of Movie? Anyone?

Ok, can anyone help me with the name of a movie I saw around 1981.  It was a sci-fi movie about this guy from space that opened this portal in a cave.  The guy came to earth and met this blonde babe.  There was a bad guy in the movie, he ended up getting his arm cut off and thrown into the  portal?  That's all I remember, it was pretty good for it's day.  Any one know for sure?  Thanks
