I don’t have much to go on but I’m hoping one of you movie buffs will know the title of this one.
It was made in the 60's or 70's and I guess it’s considered sci fi.

It’s about an average family and one day the mother is looking at a can of food and notices a symbol on the bottom of the can - I think it’s a circle with a triangle inside. She finds this symbol on other items around the house and wonders why she never noticed it before. A little farther into the story, the house starts becoming hotter and hotter and when the family tries to get out the doors are all locked. You then see a little girl taking her doll house out of an ?oven? or some sort of hot place (I don’t recall exactly what) and you realize that the family is actually her dolls who have somehow “come to life” but they don’t realize that they are simply the play things of a girl in a much larger world.

Any guesses on the title??  I’d love to see this movie again.
Thanks,
Natalie

Not sure but it sounds like it may be a Twilight Zone or Outer Limits type of show. Possibly someone else will have a better idea.

Thats actually an episode from the 'Hammer House Of Mystery And Suspense'  tv series 'Chid's Play'(1985)...I remember watching it on channel USA's "Groovy Movies" a couple of times when I was a kid

Wow... Thanks for your quick replies!

I didn't have much hope that anyone else would have seen, much less remembered, this movie. I've never heard of Hammer House (I'm in Canada) but I did a search and found that it was broadcast under "Fox Mystery Theatre" in the US  (three cheers for cable!)   :)  Seems that the Hammer House series is on dvd but I have a feeling it's only available in the UK.  Anywho....I'll keep searching to see if there's a copy somewhere in Canada.

Thanks again for the precise info Dutchman.

Good lord, what IS it with the fascination with this episode? Yes, Dutch, this IS the tv episode in question (not a movie at all), but do you have any idea how MANY times people ask about this on different horror boards, and actually several times over and over again repeatedly on certain boards in particular?

What IS it with this one, and why do you suppose it keeps coming up?

I guess alot of people saw it like I did when I was a kid, it was pretty memorable with the big twist ending. I also remember in between movies they would play short 5 minute shows that were pretty cool too...the one where this guy is working hard building this strange contraption that turns out to be a huge mouse trap, then he lays down on it and commits suicide...crazy stuff like that just sticks in your memory

Yea, I remember the mousetrap one. Starred the guy who played Riff Raff in Rocky Horror. It used to run between movies on HBO. The name of it BTW, is "The Contraption."

Frogs with their endless croaking, croaking, croaking in the night.
