Budget? Ha, its pretty much a no budget film. I have afriend who is willing to do the graphics and stuff I need so  I just need to get a green screen set up to mess with and what not. I want to shoot pretyt much everyhtign in front of a green screen as this will kill the need to location scout and get permission to film here or there.

Distriubution? Dunno for now I just am thinking of ways to get this sucker made efficiently and if possibly show it on campus.

How similar is this premise to the S. King short story "Rock and Roll Heaven"?

Husband and wife while driving through the country come to a town.  In this town, they see 'ghosts' of all the deceased rock-n-rollers: Elvis, Ricky Nelson, Hendrix, Joplin, etc. The "real" people in the town are trapped and are subjected to a rock concert every single night.  Though that sounds kinda cool at first, the being trapped part is not.

Anyway, I thought of that when I read the premise (which I realize is different).

I know CGI is not the most popular topic on this board, but I've begun some rough outlining of a CGI short I want to do.  As I doodled around on this project (which I don't have time to pursue), I realized how little I know about filmmaking, much less the CGI part.

Therefore, My Hat Is Off, to anyone, ANY-ONE, working a project like this.

Good Luck, and keep us informed.

(btw, if anyone is interested in working on a collaborative CGI movie, I've mentioned here before the Aqsis Movie Project:

And there is also Project Orange:  http://orange.blender.org/cms/Home.553.0.html

i think it sounds like a kick ass idea Dunners, there's a lot you can do with any story, some directors have turned mediocre scripts into great films (not that yours is mediocre but just as an example).

the survival/horror genre can still be explored a lot, some people almost consider Deliverance a horror film, i'd say for good reasons too :)

Just as I read this, I was listening to this cult films cd I bought the other day and the main banjoey-type song came on.  Freaky.

Where are you located and do you need any assistance from people with some slight film experience?

The answer to the first question determines whether the answer to the second question is relevant to me.
