Need help with movie title!

Hi,  I'm trying to find a title for a movie that I saw about 10 years ago!  The movie is in colour, is in English, low quality so I'm guessing '70's-'80's (not sure).  The movie starts off with a machine drilling for what I think is oil, and it strikes this creature that is underground.  Then apparently it's woken up because of this and starts attacking things.  It looks kinda like a large reptillian dinosaur thing, and it can swim underwater.  In fact, I remember a hilarious scene where a sub launches an underwater missile towars the creature, and you can see the strings on the creature and the missile!  Also, another vivid scene that I remember is where the creature is on land now, and grabs this dude and goes to eat him, only, the guy is placed on the film, I guess they ripped it out from some photos because you can see the torn edges around the actor who is getting eaten!  If you could help me find a name for this film that would be great!

I could be wrong but it sounds like THE INTRUDER WITHIN (1981)



I asked about that film a few years back as well.
Actually, I think I am wrong....but it's worth a shot.

Thanks Gerry, that's the film!  I'm glad I have a title now!  I hope I was close with the details....!
