help wilderness movie

can someone help me find this movie.  i think its from the 80's.  its about a teenage girl about 13, 14 years old and her little brother get lost in the wilderness alone.  i remember a part in the movie where she has no choice but to feed herself and her brother worms or maggots from under a tree stump.  can someone help?

No, not "Walkabout," unless it takes place in Australia, and the father kills himself at the beginning of the film.

If sd1, and I are thinking about the movie, it recently played on television, but I can't remember enough about it, to remember the title.

I think Walkabout was the 70's anyway.  The aborigine that helps them survive ends up hanging himself, as I recall, rather than killing them.
