Ok, THIS IS MY LAST OT MESSAGE ( i need to stop doing that and contribute to the film chat). But i couldn't help it just this once....

MOON SHOES

Well boys and girls, here it is. What you have been waiting for your entire lives....trampoline shoes! You strap these bad babies on and you can defy gravity. They claim to help aid in a childs development of balance and coordination, but screw that. Put them on and go shopping, go to Uncle Bobs funeral, go to school, go to church, I double dog dare ya!

Apparently adults can use these too, so i'm quite anxious for Santa to bring my MY pair this year so I can get around the office with a little more bounce in my step.

These shoes will guarantee you to become the biggest nerd on the block! Get yours today

Those are funny!

Remember that toy in the 80's that looked like the planet Saturn?
(it was around 15 inches in diameter)
You also stood on it and jumped around on it.
It was a round rubbery ball with a plastic ring around it that you stood on.

What was it called?

My daughter wants those shoes but I can't get them for her. I love her more than anything but I'm being honest when I say that she is clumsy on her feet with regular shoes. She would kill herself with these.

Moonboots!!

Wow, I remember those!  I actually owned a pair years and years ago, but only because someone gave them to me, and then I only trooped around at home with them on briefly [public moon booting would have been suicidal methinks]  They were interesting enough, but I quickly lost interest due to them being pretty crap overall...

But on the other hand they came with these deluxe sized thick rubber bands.  I still have the pack at home somewhere [they came with a bunch because eventually they would snap and you needed to replace them, and they would snap more often in mid-use which could be dangerous if caught running about in them]

Those bands were huge and quite nasty to use if someone decided to have a rubber band fight, they would be toast because those things really stung...

Skip-It. It's a plastic ring you put around your foot that extends to a large sphere that had a counter on the bottom that with every rotation would count the number of times you swung it under your foot.

I remember these things because EVERY GIRL HAD ONE. I think this is one of those things that if a boy was seen using it, it meant immediate expulsion. It was mostly used as an entertaining tool for after school care, but the stupid looks kids always had just stick in my head. Arms flailing to the side, pony tails whipping around like weed wacker nylon, and that stupid plastic ball scraping the asphalt that would always grate my ears. I'm sure my ape-like screaming on the monkey bars wasn't exactly vibrato either, but we all have to gripe about our youth.

Ash

Scottie that wasn't the toy I was thinking of.
This was different.
You jumped up and down on it.

It's driving me nuts trying to remember what it was called.

2xSlick

Ash, that would be the super deadly Pogo Ball!

This is the only toy that caused me to summersault into a face plant by merely standing on it. I didn't try it a second time.

Hahahaha. Worthless pieces of rubber.

My dad tried to pass these things off as balance education tools at one of his hockey camps. I never did understand his logic behind THAT drill, standing on it, wobbling back and forth, but ultimately finding an equilibrium when your weight mushed the ball down to the floor and you stood flat footed on the padded surface. LAME.

Just Plain Horse

Let's face it, when we're kids, we'll try almost anything if it's marketed to us the right way...

Y'know the Pogo ball, Ash's second picture from a certain angle, looks a wee bit phalic.

Just my opinon.

Mr_Vindictive

Pogo ball resulted in me losing many teeth as a child.

I loathe them and Moonshoes to this day.

A bald man named Savalas visited me last night in a dream.  I think it was a Telly vision.

Ouch!

Sorry to hear that Skaboi.

I'll admit when I was younger those moonshoes looked like so much fun. I guess my non-vocal yearnings saved my parents a lot of money when I didn't have to get replacement teeth. (still had to get braces though).
