OT: This P'd Me Off

I know a few guys from the Iraq war and I just saw a link to a "cartoon" that was put in a Seattle newspaper that angered the sh*t out of me. When I saw this "cartoon", I couldn't help but wonder what the idiot was trying to convey and it just p**sed me off thoroughly. Agree with the war or not, don't take it out on the guys that are/were over there. I sent an e-mail to them to complain and I know others that did too. If it p**ses you off, send them an e-mail and let them know what you think.

What a stupid, crappy cartoon.  Usually cartoonists are meant to be somewhat intelligent about their political points, but this is just downright stupid...

Seems to me like the cartoonist was starved for inspiration and had to pick up his jokes from the slimy mess at the bottom of the inspiration bucket...

Oh and I should add that I had a look at some of the other comics to see if it was a once off and sure enough, there was a stupid 'I want to be intelligent but I'm really quite crap' comment on suicide bombers vs American airstrikes.  I sure don't like this guy...

I'm fully against the war, and the methodology behind it, but this just isn't funny. It's like bad graffiti; a pointless, misguided and desperate attempt by someone to express themselves. I guess we know who had parents who spit on the Vietnam vets, don't we? I'm not so much angry as just completely disappointed.

It's Ted Rall.  He's basically anti-whatever-the-US-is-doing.  He's nothing more than a pimple on a boil on a worm's butt.

What a crock!!  The shame of it  is that a lot of guys are coming back with mental health problems. Our local news has been reporting just of late about the 39th Infantry Brigade of our National Guard suffering a quickly rising divorce rate among the guys who just returned a few months ago.

Everyone thinks about the 2100 dead, but how many are coming back maimed both physically and mentally? And then some a***ole has gaul draw s**t like this. I believe in freedom of speech, but the paper should know this is nothing but insensitive and inflammatory.

Wish I had the print edition so I could wipe my ass with it and send back to them!

the Editorial Manager at the paper. Seems the cartoon wasn't actually published in the print edition. Here is the text of the email I got back from Mark Trahant at the paper.


Dear Ed,
Thank your for your email. I, too, thought the strip tasteless. That's why I
did not publish it. Every week when we select a Ted Rall for the paper, we
toss out one that we consider outrageous. The reason why you saw the cartoon
is that our New Media operation takes a feed directly from Ted Rall's
syndicate. It's an online link that automatically posts every cartoon he
draws. We are reviewing this practice and will find a way to edit the
cartoons or discontinue them all together.

I did go to the link for this Ted Rall guy and he seems quite anti military.

A hatefull little drone who insults his betters.
I don't like haveing to say that, but thats all that comes to mind. He's the ...person...who insulted the Football player who gave up a great carrer to join the Army., and died in Afganistan.
He's just a bully who uses words insted of his ( Meger) fists to hurt people.

How did he manage to get a career as an editorial cartoonist.  His artistic skill is minimal at best, his sense of humour is pathetic and he seems to lack any of the credentials required to live in harmony with he fellow man.  This guy was probably beaten up on a regulr basis as a kid and his career is a result of his brain damage life skills therapy.  He's too lazy to work so he pulls crap like this out of his ass and tries to sell it.

I don't like to hack on a person I never met, but the guy really does need a good old fassioned ass beating. I believe in the freedom of speech, but there are some people out there who just take it to far. This guy might think he is being funny, but he reminds me of a twisted little kid pulling the wings of of flies, or picking on some little kid just to see the reaction. It is a good thing the paper picks, and chooses what they use from this guy. If it were up to me the links to his other stuff would not be posted in the paper.

Thanks for posting that Trek. I never received an answer. Perhaps it was because I sent it to the general link on the bottom for "contact us", I don't know. It's good to see the paper doesn't print everything. It still p**ses me off and I'd love to kick this guys ass myself.
