Bought this Kung Fu DVD for $1. It's a Hong Kong film which is really great, but I don't know the name of it because Media Movies & More put the wrong name and story info on the back. It is the type of Kung Fu film that I've been searching for. Traditional outfits, old style kung fu action and sound effects. The story was also very dramatic especially at the end. I'm guessing it was made in the late 70's or early 80's. They also use all the styles and weapons imaginable in this film. One of the films main points is that the son of a dead master is older and seeking his fathers bones because he promised his mother that he wouldn't seek revenge for his fathers death. Naturally to get his fathers bones back he must fight to get them.

Now about the DVD package. It's one of those thin DVD plastic cases. The title on the cover is THE REVENGER which is an appropriate title and may even be the title, but I doubt it because imdb.com doesn't list a Kung Fu film by that title. The strange thing about the cover case is that it has the names of the actor and storyline of a film by the name of THE REVENGER (1989) starring Oliver Reed which I don't think made any Kung Fu movies.

Well, the DVD and the movie itself were both very entertaining and if you find it...then by all means buy it at your local dollar store. It's called THE REVENGER (or at least the DVD box says it is).

Try some back searching by looking up actor and director names and matching online movie descriptions with what you've seen. Though, even that method can be unreliable as many of the Hong Kong and kung fu movies in public domain aren't well documented, even on the IMDb.

Thanks Scottie, but the DVD even cut the beginning credits so I can't even get actors and director names. If you find it pick it up. It's everything you could want in a old style Kung Fu movie.

Problem with some of the US distributions of those DVDs is that they are sometimes cut from several original Hong Kong movies so it may be hard to even trace it back to a single title
