DESTROY ALL PLANETS (1968) - Another wacky Gamera film that has similarities to ATTACK OF THE MONSTERS (1969). Kids get caught up in an alien craft and of course Gamera is around protecting the planet earth, but the aliens place something on top of Gamera which the aliens use to control Gamera who then turns on Tokyo which is the best part of the movie. There is one scene of decapitation of three humans which was unexpected. The later Gamera takes on the alien who looks like a giant squid. The best of the Gamera films that I've seen is the original b/w GAMERA THE INVINCIBLE (1966).

I've always been a fan of the Gamera series, mainly due to the fact that I would usually miss the Godzilla screenings on TV, but for some reason was able to find time to either watch or tape the Gamera films when they were on.

Enjoyable fun, though my favourite monster film is still Gappa, for it's incredible silliness.

Gappa is great ! Love how baby Gappa learns to fly at the airport. How appropriate...........

Personally I like the 'dangerous looking and very active so gape in awe' Volcano, but really the whole thing is great.

Ahh, Gappa, Gamera, Guiliea (X from Outer Space), Gozilla, and Yongary those are great movies to watch as a kid.

Most of them start with "G".

Godzilla is my favorite but with the three newer Gamera movies he now certainly rivals Godzilla.
Now it's time to sing the nation anthem IN AMERICA!!!

I was just telling someone else yesterday that any monster movie under the letter G is probably a giant monster movie... be it Gappa, The Giant Gila Monster, The Giant Claw, Gigantis, Gamera, Ghidorah, Godzilla or Gorgo. G is for "Goddamn our city's getting stomped again!"

I don't disprove this theory!

Godzookie...

which stands for "GOD DAMNIT!"
