I've heard for sometime now that a remake of that classic b-movie has been planned to be in the works. Does anyone have any new news to report as to the current mode the film is in?

I find this really, really hard to believe- unless some cheap ass studio like "Troma" was behind it. If anyone tried to remake this film they'd make it overly goofy on purpose. I can do without that. The original (with the MST3K commentary) is good enough for me.

BTW, I checked IMDB and there's no mention of a remake... but can you believe Bill McCutcheon, a.k.a. "Dropo", had somewhat of an acting career after SCCTM? Good for him. He sure beat the odds.

I remember a few years back Ben Edlund, creator of the Tick and more recently a writer/producer of Firefly, was talking about doing a remake. Haven't heard much about it recently, though.

slightly off-topic, but i got a laugh recently when i saw that moviestop had "santa's slay" in with all the kiddie christmas movies.
