I know this movie is not a parody , but what about April Fools Day? It wants to be a slasher flick 'till the end, then you find out it was all a joke. That was my take of the movie.

Oh. I forgot:

I Sell the Dead (2008)

Can only make Brits good horror comedies or do I only happen to them?

I SELL THE DEAD was good but it was made by Americans.  It was shot in New York City, in fact.
I'll take you places the hand of man has not yet set foot...

Hmmmm... Angus Scrimm is in it... On top of the Netflix queue you go!!!

:)

God the Worms

Pandemonium and Saturday the 14th are both excellent in my opinion.

I count Freddy's Dead as a parody, but it is awful.

I Sell the Dead is most triumphant.

Oh, well, it has this british look, so I liked it and even the humor seemed well plumpudding fed.

Well, if I define parody, simplely as a comic imitation, there alot of them out there, many of which I have not seen, but of those I have seen, my favorite is "The Ghost Breakers" from 1940, if only because it is the only horror parody I've found that is equal parts scary and funny.

And it is has one of those casts, you just don't find anymore. Bob Hope, Paulette Goddard, Paul Lukas, Willie Best, Pedro de Cordoba, Virginia Brissac, Noble Johnson, Paul Fix, Lloyd Corrigan, and making his motion picture debut in the film Robert Ryan.

Between 1948 and 1955 Abbott and Costello had a whole string of horror parodies.

Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein
Abbott and Costello Meet the Killer, Boris Karloff
Abbott and Costello Meet the Invisible Man
Abbott and Costello Meet Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde
Abbott and Costello Meet the Mummy

My favorite is "Abbott and Costello Meet Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, if only because seeing Lous walking along the steets of London, as a giant mouse, and scaring both man and mouse, always leave me on the floor.

But, probably, the best of their horror parodies was "Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein" with Bud Abbott, Lou Costello, Bela Lugosi, Glenn Strange, Lon Chaney, jr., and Vincent Price.

And from the other other side of the pond,  there is 1988's "Lair of the White Worm," which is reviewed at this site.

If you like old black and white sci-fi monster movies, you HAVE to see The Lost Skeleton of Cadavre.  You just have to.

Among the characters, it's got a mutant, an evil skeleton, a scientist who specializes in science, aliens pretending to be human, and a woman that was created from four wild animals.

garth marenghi's darkplace - even though its a tv series. best spoof of 70s/80s horror and sci-fi ever!

The best horror parody I've seen is called Transylvania Twist. If you don't find it on home video I suggest downloading a pirated version, because it's very obscure.

Also, since it wasn't mentioned, Stan Helsing is a parody of horror movies, but I doubt anyone except a pothead friend of mine will find it funny.

I also really enjoyed Shriek If You Know What I Did Last Friday the Thirteenth , although I wouldn't call it a good movie.  It's one of those enjoyable bad movies.  I'm not going to insult you by telling you what types of movies that parodies.  It's also one of Tom Arnold's more enjoyable roles.

A great example and also what I was going to bring up
