And then they have the word "stabbing" in giant, tiger-print letters.  Here I thought I had a morbid sense of humor.

I know what you mean about the hometown thing.  Seems the last times Spokane had even a slight amount of media attention:

1. Our mayor was involved in a gay sex scandal
2. We had a serial killer (who was thankfully caught and sentenced to an eternity in prison)
3. Really, do you think enough interesting things happen here to have a third item?  Traffic violations make the news here.

Sad thing is, my mother knows the parents of the suspect, and she was a promising college student who was going to be a lawyer, now all of that's over with. It just takes one simple, stupid act to f#$% up your entire life.
