I know there many car movies about cars being possessed by evil spirits.  Can you tell me what were some of the titles and plots?  I do remember a movie about a car ( hearse), but that is all.

Jay O'Connor

http://us.imdb.com/Title?0085333">Christine is probably the most obvious

There is also http://us.imdb.com/Title?0075809">The Car.  Andrew has a http://www.badmovies.org/movies/thecar/">review of The Car

Chadzilla

Well, the above listed - Christine (teenager falls for possessed car) and The Car (Evil hits the road, and a few pedestrians, teachers, bicyclers, cops, and a hitchhiker).

There's also

Duel - Dennis Weaver p**ses off an unseen trucker and Cat and Mouse terror.  Considered the best of the genre (thanks in large part to Richard Matheson's excellent story) 1971ish

Crash! - What happens when Sue Lyon puts a Supernaturall Power Idol on her car key ring?  Well she uses the power to avenge her attempted murder by her scuzzbag husband (Jose Ferrer).  Charles Band directed, sort of. 1976ish

Death Van on the Highway (or some such title) - Valerie Bertinelli tracks a van driving serial predator.  Hal Needham directed.

Wheels of Terror - See jabootu.com for the review, if you dare!

Maximum Overdrive and Trucks both bungled Stephen King's creepy comic book what if short story Trucks.  Trucks come to life and run people over.  Read the story first.

Possessed vehicles make a cameo in Poltergeist III.

Killdozer - Ancient Evil (or Alien Intelligence) takes over a bulldozer (hence title) and threatens a constrution crew (I believe the late Robert Urich was in this one).

I seem to remember a movie out where some guy gets killed by a local gang and he comes back in a slick looking sports car to get revenge....

I seem to remember a movie...

I found it!  It's called http://us.imdb.com/Title?0092240>The Wraith

What about the most disturbing of all; the Herbie series! Eugh.

Flangepart

In "The cars that ate Paris" they had a spike covered VW. Herbie's ev-il twin?

AndyC

I loved The Wraith. It had cool 80s cars, cool 80s music and Clint Howard in an Eraserhead wig. What more could you want?

J.R.

The TV show Are You Afraid Of The Dark (a fav topic on this board) had several car episodes, but most of them were blatant Christine or Maximum Overdrive knock offs.

Neville

Mmm... I seem to remember the movie about a guy who returns from death in a black sports car. Quite funny, but can't remember the exact title. I think Charlie Sheen played the resurrected, so you can check IMDB and you may have luck.

I remember another film dor the list, but I can't remember the title, because I only saw the trailer. I was about a young man who bought a motorbike which was a vampire. The best part was when we saw the front of the black motorbike, because the cristal covering the lights had been manipulated so it looked similar to vampire fangs. If it was a serious movie or a dumb comedy, I'll never know.

The Charlie Sheen movie you've mentioned , Neville, is "The Wraith"  (one of the one's already mentioned, by an interesting coincidence.)

The other movie you mentioned is, I believe, "I bought a Vampire Motorcycle".  Check out its IMdB entry at http://us.imdb.com/Title?0097550, if you want to make sure.

Chadzilla's too humble to plug himself, but you might want to check out his reviews of http://www.scifilm.org/reviews/thecar.html">THE CAR and  http://www.scifilm.org/reviews2/maxoverdrive.html">MAXIMUM OVERDRIVE over at my site http://www.scifilm.org">scifilm.org.

Thier was also a movie that had a few short scifi/horror stories.I remember it had Emilio Estevez in it as a teen who fights a video game.

& then it had a preacher who fights Black truck that was an obvious take of of "The Car".

BTW.I loved the VW in the Herbie movies.

But KITT from Night Rider has to die!!!

That would be Nightmares (1983). In his segment, Emilio Estevez is obsessed with beating the Bishop (of Battle).  :)

BTW, Lance Henriksen was in the truck segment.
