Now a real challenge...the opening narration to Star Trek/TOS. (Could anyone do the Shatner delivery in Affrikanns, or is he untouchable?)
"Aggressivlly eccentric, and proud of it!"

Ooh, ooh, Mista Treva! Mista Treva!

How would you say "koala races"? I mean, that's what you folks are known for!
I feel more like I do now than I did a while ago.

Hierdie is die reise van die Starship Enterprise . Sy  vyf jarige  missie om vreemde nuwe wêrelde te verken, om te soek na lewe en nuwe beskawings, om met vrymoedigheid te gaan waar niemand nog ooit gegaan het.

Not bad.  :teddyr:

Reading "Icarus" by Deon Meyer. "The King of South African Crime." And translated from the Afrikaans to English by K. L. Seegers.

Thus, how many ways is there to say "f@#$!" in Afrikaans.

There's f%^, as in f@#$!
There's f%^^en, as in f@#$ing!
There's f%^^it, as in f@#$ it!
There's f%^^ops, as in f@#$ ups!

Any more . . .?!
For example, what is Afrikaans for "f@#$ all!"

On a serious note, what do you think of the Afrikaans language's future? Is it a dying language doomed to be overtaken by English?

I don't think so, otherwise I will only be fluent in two languages instead of three: English and expletives

There's been more Afrikaans language films produced and released in the last five years than in the last two decades so I think so long as people speak it, it won't die out.

Cinderella story. Outta nowhere. A former greenskeeper, now, about to become the Masters champion. It looks like a mirac...It's in the hole! It's in the hole! It's in the hole!

I am not insane. I'm aggressively eccentric!

Wiping my ass causes me great pleasure, especially when I use dead squirrels to get the job done.

It sounds like the South African government is doing a pretty good job of letting SA's many languages co-exist (or at least not doing anything to hurt them).  I gather Afrikaans actually has a pretty good media presence.  I've definitely heard it more in music and film than Zulu or Xhosa (I think I've heard one Zulu song ever).

I also know there's education, some government functions, published magazines/newspapers, websites, business, radio, and some television conducted in Afrikaans...  Linguists generally say you need governmental support, education, and media for a language to have good survival chances...  Definitely has all that, and a speaker base in the millions, so I'd say it's future is pretty secure as a living language.  Which is awesome.
