We shall meet in the place where there is no darkness.

And yet, given the choice I'd still watch Boorman's movie again before I'd watch Friedkin's again!
I'll take you places the hand of man has not yet set foot...

All three Exorcist movies were banned here so I guess the old censor board got something right  :buggedout:

I too am not a fan of O.G. EXORCIST....... but Friedkin made the incredible Michael Shannon horror movie BUG, so he's a-okay in my book.

I hated part 2. I liked 3. I LOVE the first one.
Supernatural?...perhaps. Baloney?...Perhaps not!" Bela Lugosi-the BLACK CAT (1934)

Lugosi-"No. Dracula-never ends."

The original is quite disturbing. I get it why some people would rather watch the silly nonsense sequel
Is it October yet?

Just like we all see different colors through our individual eyeballs, somehow we experience the same film differently... the climactic exorcism in the original just doesn't play as disturbing to me... it seems pretty hokey/stagey/"silly". I know all professionals involved were doing their best and trying something a bit novel, but it doesn't succeed that well for me. (It is better than the climactic exorcism from the sequel from a couple years ago, though!)
