Thanks to everyone.  Hopefully the site has contributed something to society and culture, not everything can be of measurable merit, but surely something has been.

The explosion of DVD has resulted in a bunch of lost classics coming back to light, but I am not certain that we will reach that point of "really great to be a movie lover" until another distribution system comes along.  Some sort of online version, which removes the material (the physical DVD) factor and ensures that movies will not go out of print is what I want - and no stupid DRM.  I am perfectly willing to buy my movies, but do not screw with my rights as the consumer because the studios are crazy paranoid.

It worked for the music industry, well, sort of.

Sorry I'm late in responding.
Haven't had much computer access lately because of the flood.

I remember the first time I came here to this site in 2000.
Hard to believe it's been 8 years for me and 10 years for Badmovies.org.
The site has definitely evolved over the years.  I remember posting like crazy on the old style Phorum.

It's been a fun ride.
Here's to ten more years!

Thanks Andrew

Dr. Whom

A bit late, but anyway: congrats and thank you all for brightening my day!

I think I've repeatedly stated that the people who post on this board form the greatest human database for forgotten cinema. Film historians will always focus on and study the high points of each decade. We, however, have at least one person who can pontificate (intelligently) on almost every movie ever released, sublime or sub-par. Not only pontificate, but recognize directors, actors, what have you, and discuss their work over a wider range of their career and the thrust of the time.

History is not only a discussion of our finest moments. It includes some grimy bits, where it really wasn't all that worth talking about, but it's there anyway. And it's not reduced to "academic" discussion, because they were simply good times.

Right. I'm going to go watch I Come in Peace.

also...some of my favorite characters from the past

1.guy who thought "liar of the white worm " was like the greatest movie ever

2.guy who thought "valley of Gwangi" was like the greatest movie ever

3.  guy who left because he wanted the board to be more focused on screw ups in movies, like guys in the middle eages wearing wristwatches and calling each other by their real names and this is what REALLY constituted a "bad movie"

Andrew, congratulations on ten years of BADMOVIES.ORG, this is the only site I visit. As my dad used to say "Ya done a good one kid"

Sorry to be so late but our laptop picked up a nasty virus and it's been down for a week.

Well, I wouldn't say "Lair of the White Worm" is the greatest movies ever, but I do think it is one of the most underrated movies ever.

And yes, a delayed happy birthday from me, too.

How much is that in dog years?
