I Accidentally Got a Job

As some of you may recall, I am currently a massage therapist. I've been working with a local chiropractor for a little over a year now on a contract basis. She associated herself with a corporate group that specializes in treating patients who are union members. A couple weeks ago, their regular therapist took a vacation and I substituted for him. They had been looking for a good time to give him the sack (for a number of reasons), and, after getting good reports from the patients about me, decided to go ahead and boot him and offer me the job. The pay is waaaaay more than I would have expected, and I couldn't bring myself to turn it down. I'm now working some funky hours, but I will finally be able to put away some money to help my daughter with college and take care of some other things that need some attention but that were sacrificed due to our poorness.

So celebrate with me, folks! The job isn't perfect, but it's better than I would have thought I'd get at my age and with having been self-employed for nearly four years.

I remember being happy as hell when I got my current hospital job.. the work is MUCH easier than the last one, where I brutalized myself pulling orders in a warehouse.  The harder and faster I worked, the more work they gave me.  Now I still work hard, but I can get off early at least once a week if I give notice.  It's great to be able to do something you at least kind of enjoy or don't mind.
