I'm a big fan of H G Lewis, but I have never got round to watching 2000 Maniacs ( I KNOW!) it should be with me tomorrow though.

My dilemma is:

I'm at a friends house and he has asked me if I want to watch 2001 maniacs. I do as it has Robert Englund in it, but will it spoil 2000?

I have a strong feeling it will have very little to do with the first one, but I need to make sure.

As is often the case, I highly suggest you watch the original first.

The original really didn't do too much for me, to be honest. It had a few cool moments, though, like when the woman get her nips hacked off. I tend to avoid remakes like the plague so it would'nt get a big endorsement from me.

I haven't seen 2000 Maniacs but  did see 2001 Maniacs.  2001 stands on it's own as a movie and works fairly well for what it is.

I dont picture myself a H G Lewis fan but I believe I have tortured my wife with several of his films (thanks from Netflix)

2000 is one of HG Lewis better films, it's a must see if you have seen a few HG Lewis films but to enjoy it you need to watch a few other HG Lewis films first. I dont think it's the worst of his films but you need to work your way into watching it otherwise you might not like it.

The films that I didnt like: A Taste of Blood (seem too long it's almost 2 hours long!!!), The Gruesome Twosome (sleepy film), Blood Feast (exploitation without fun) and She-Devils on Wheels (Outch!)

I liked loves Something Weird (because of the oddness), The Wizard of Gore (because of the sillyness) and The Gore Gore Girls (because it almost as fun as Pieces).

I have seen all the ones you have mentioned apart from A Taste Of Blood and Something Weird and loved them all especially The Gruesome Twosome and She-Devils on Wheels.

Looks like I'm in for a treat.

May you be the last picked in The Man Eaters' "Stud Line"!

If you're an Andy Milligan fan there's no hope for you.
