I was so sad to hear about the devastation.  Paris is still on the bucket list and a visit to Notre Dame would have been in order.   At least part of the building survived and will be rebuilt.

Last i heard the organ appears to have survived but they have to see how much damage there was to the inner workings of the organ.

(Yeah, Paris statutes, you have been advised the day will come when Sprite75 will show up with that G-D camera of his that is the bane of Roman and Spanish statutes everywhere).
God of making the characteristic which becomes dirty sends the hurricane.

I would have loved to have seen Notre Dame in its full glory.  While I'm sure they will do their best to rebuild and restore-I'm betting it won't be the same.  Like others have said-this was a terrible loss for the worlds of art, architecture, faith, and history.
At least, that's what Gary Busey told me...

There is one thing I just have to say.  There's  this pic of a gold cross that survived the fire and peolle are calling it a holy miracle.

Yeah,  wood,  the main fuel for the fire,  burns at ~ 600C.

Gold melts at ~ 1050C.

It's not much of a miracle that a gold cross survived a fire that was ~  40% below its melting point.

The doctor that circumcised Trump threw away the wrong piece.

Is sounds like many primary and ancient structures survive; the roof was not nearly as old as the building.

There is hope.
If you want to view paradise . . . simply look around and view it!
