I hesitate to even put this one in the bad movie forum and was considering using the good movie forum for once. To me it is like Creepshow where it is actually a great movie, but has bad movie elements that are synonymous with bad movies. However, here everything is handled excellently just like with Creepshow so you get a great movie.

Anyway, I just re-watched this on Amazon Prime. I was hesitant to do so as I mostly jus try to watch movies I've never seen before unless I really get the hankering to revisit. Since I hadn't seen this one in at least 10 years, probably 15 I figured I could justify it. It was even better than a remembered it!

For those who don't know it is the story of Ed Gein only here he is renamed Ezra Cobb. Psycho was heavily inspired by the same story but whereas Psycho takes parts of the story this tries to retell it straight. For th most part. It actually has some intentional humor/dark humor that made me genuinely lol at least twice.

Highly recommended especially if you have Amazon Prime where it is now streaming free and legally. I used to have the DVD and they must have used the same print because the picture quality is just as good.

Caught this on Comet a while back, after meaning to watch for years...

Enjoyed some of the visuals & the narrator, but was a little put off by how it went from campy to serious midway through.....

I like the part where he's talking to his dead Mama while eating a chicken leg- and dipping it into a jar of peanut butter!  :bouncegiggle:

I love that during that scene he's talking about how the heavy set girl his mother meant to set him up with isn't all there in the head  :bouncegiggle:

The Burgomaster

Classic. I sold my uncut VHS tape on eBay last year because I have it on blu-ray now.

I thought it was a pretty good movie, but I just could not take the narrator seriously.

Pretty sure there's quite a few threads about this one. This movie kicks ass. Seriously. Best and closest to the 'real life' Ed Gein story(I think Psycho missed the mark on that one). And man, that pea soup barf out scene was groovy. Roberts Blossom looks so much like Gein it's creepy. I love this movie soooo much. f**k that narrator though lol. Killdozer did a song called "Ed Gein". Should've been in the soundtrack.
