A question...[FINALLY SOLVED]

I have been looking for a movie for years. I don't think it is a b-movie or exploitation, more like drama with horror elements in it... I have asked at IMDb about this thing for years, but so far nothing. Someone there recomended you people, and I thought I would try. So here goes:

mid-80's or 70's (maybe earlier).

Probably drama/horror.

May be British.

A man is a guest in a house or on a big farm. When he goes to bed, the ghost of a girl appears. This may be happening more than once. I think that the girl actually crawls into bed with him at some point. I think he is too scared to move.

Near the end, the man sees (in a vision?) the girl drowned in the horse-troff (or something similar), while (her parents, one parent and a lover, foster-parents???) are having sex (I think) in a room (possibly in the shower). He sees the drowned girl from a window on the 2nd floor.

This is a guess, but an educated one, as I believe I saw the same show you did years and years ago. It may be THE INTERCESSOR (1983). Click over to this IMDB page and read the user comments:

I was actually dancing around when I had read it. My search is over (well almost... now I gotta find a way of getting a hold of it, but still!).

I hope I dare see this movie that scared me out of watching horror for more than 5 years, when I was a very young man.

You can get this one in one offering, but when I tell my wife about how great you are, & offer up this film she saw on the big screen in Wyoming in 1966 or so, all y'all can come up with is Dementia 13 --
