Ah, Grandpa/Leo.  One of my favorite Al Lewis roles is Hangin Judge Harrison in Used Cars.

RIP.

I'd had no idea that Al Lewis was that old. Whenever I had seen him in something, he always looked like Grandpa, whether it was something from the 60s or something from the 90s; I just thought he never aged. Loved Al in The Munsters and Car 54 Where are You. Car 54 was one of my favorite shows and still leaves me rolling. Al will be missed, but Grandpa will always be with us.

Grandpa Munster was equally as important as Herman Munster on that show. Really loved that show on reruns in the 70's.

The Burgomaster

One of his family members recently disputed the report that he was so old and said he was really born in 1923, making him 82 or 83 years old when he died.  I doubt this is true because that would have meant he was in his early 40s when he was on THE MUNSTERS and he looked a heck of a lot older than that.  Could this be a controversy that will live on for decades to come?

Knew he had to be ancient by this time, but it's still a surprise that he's actually gone.
