Anyone remember Commander USA's Groovie Movies?  I used to love those as a kid. Wish they would put the shows on DVD.  God knows, they release alot of trash, so might as well add those great shows!!

Actualy, i do. A friend at work is a Horror Host fan, and has some good stuff.
Cmder USA, Goulardi, Da Ghoul, Son Of Ghoul, Svengoolie, Zackerly, hey you name it, Doug might have it!
Liked his host bits dureing "Its Alive!"
"Aggressivlly eccentric, and proud of it!"

Commander USA was a bit before my time, and a bit before my family had cable.  I just did a search for Commander USA, and the show looks like it was a blast.  Strange, unfunny humor with a bad movie each week?  Sounds like it was my kind of show.

A bald man named Savalas visited me last night in a dream.  I think it was a Telly vision.

Yea, I remember Commander USA on USA TV Network. It was a good show, but I was always busy on Saturday afternoons back in the 80's.

USA Network also had a Kung Fu Theater if I remember correctly or was it Commander USA who played the Kung Fu films?

How about that Commander USA Club pledge..................I'm sure we all took the oath. Anyone here not take the Commander USA pledge to "remain an all around good guy forever"?

Oh, and by the way welcome aboard Flacorocks.

Thanks Scott!!  Yep, them Commander USA shows were great.  I was young and had to go to my grandparents house to watch since my dad was hogging the tube back then.  I used to get a kick out of him making "Lefty" his sidekick with his cigar ash on his right hand!  I can't recall the Karate show, usually after Commander USA, I'd go out and play.....

Ash

I remember him now!
Seeing that picture of him jogged my memory.

That membership card needs to have the name SCOTT written on the line where the name goes.

LOL!

USA used to have a lot of goofy-ass shows. That's the first place I ever saw Regis Philbin. Dr. Ruth used to be on USA.

I remember Richard Belzer had a talk show on there and once had Hulk Hogan and Mr. T on demonstrating the knock-out hold. Hulk put Belzer out with it and he dropped to the floor and cracked the back of his head and was bleeding.

I also remember USA's Up All Night which played lots of good B movies and the old 50's shows Space Patrol and Tom Corbett: Space Cadet.  They also played one my favorite films J-Men Forever (which I purchased on DVD).

Ahhhhh, the good old days when cable was the wild west.

And you thought Trek isn't cool.

Just Plain Horse

I think I caught that show once... I believe it was were I first saw "Monster in the Closet"; what a great use for a xylophone...

Scott

ASHTHECAT didn't you take the oath? .......I just know everyone else did. Isn't that right everyone? The pledge has been our guide for 20 years now.

That might have been Black Belt Theater and not Kung Fu Theater, but I remember seeing some good Kung Fu movies on USA Network occasionally.

raj

Don't really remember Commander USA.  But I loved Up All Night, especially with Caroline Schlitz.  I was shocked when they ditcher her for that blonde - Rhonda Shear? - and the horrible Gilbert Godfrey.

Scott

You mean you didn't take the oath Raj?

raj

Nope, didn't take the oath hadn't heard of the oath before.

LH-C

USA's possibly most goofy show had to be 'Dance Party USA', which ran from 1986-1992. Kelly Ripa was even on there. I still can't it ran for 6 years.

And wasn't Belzer's show on LifeTime before it changed formats?

trekgeezer

You know you're right LH-C. I had a brain fart about the talk shows, this was back before Lifetime became the "women as victims" network.

And you thought Trek isn't cool.

Scott

Raj and ASHTHECAT haven't taken the Commander USA pleadge. Are there more?
