BAD FILMS FIND A GOOD HOME AT FIRST-EVER “LOBOTRONIC” FILM SHOW

Nationally syndicated horror movie host Mr. Lobo is the champion of what he calls "misunderstood films," and he's made special appearances at countless film shows in Sacramento over the past 5 years. On his TV program “Cinema Insomnia,” featuring full-length classics like "The Brain That Wouldn't Die" and "Gigantis: the Fire Monster", Lobo also showcases an parade of bizarre short films, monster movie trailers, vintage commercials and twisted cartoons that might otherwise go unseen by mainstream audiences. Most of them are loaned to the show by prominent Northern California film collectors who have put on “Psychotronic”-style film shows since the 1970's mostly in the San Francisco Bay Area. B. Hidden Productions and Cinema Insomnia are presenting a special live exhibition of this random strangeness here in Sacramento, sans featurelength film, and hosted by syndicated TV horror host Mr. Lobo. Besides the hypnotic display of 16mm shorts, Sacramento audiences can win prizes, see real monsters roaming the aisles and experience “Lobovision”!!

Also present will be the spicy The Queen Of Trash from Sacramento's Trash Film Orgy and KFJC-FM DJ Rob Emmet, who hosts the legendary Psychotronix Film Shows in the bay area. One night only! The “Lobotronic Film Show” starts at Midnight on Friday, February 24 (doors open at 11:30 P.M.) at The Studio Theater (1028 R Street, Sacramento). $7 admission includes Lobo-o-Vision glasses! Portions will be recorded by the crew of “Cinema Insomnia” for broadcast next season. Come out and support Sacramento’s esoteric cinema scene! Photos and more details (including advance ticket information) can be found on the internet at www.cinemainsomnia.com.

Oh man, that sounds so awesome!!  Though I don't have a clue what it is, I'd really go for a bit of Lobovision right now.  It just sounds kick-ass.

Godo luck for the night Lobo-san, may the bad movie gods help things run smoothly and with the appropriate amount of bad taste.

Yea, Mr. Lobo has something going here with that show. Watched a segment of INVASION OF THE NEPTUNE MEN that included a commercial for Tang The Breakfast Drink, Early Lost in Space commercial, about 10 minutes of Invasion of the Neptune Men, and your host Mr. Lobo. He has a quality show their in Sacremento, California that seems to be spreading.

The Lobotronic Show looks great also.

He has about 3 of his shows online for your viewing pleasure. Great stuff.

Ed, Ego and Superego

Hey Lobo, Its good to see you!   Wish I could make the show in Sacramento, its my sort of fodder.

Ed did you say Mr. Lobo is your fodder? He can probably not only get you to the show, but on the show as well.

trekgeezer

Scott you're a weird dude sometimes. I can just see your daughter rolling her eyes at your bad puns.

And you thought Trek isn't cool.

Scott

I got a Million of them Trek Geezer, but they aren't all funny. It's your responsability to sort through them.

Well, I missed my big break. Mr. Lobo offered me a chance to be on the show a few months back if I sent in some material. (no pun intented)

Ed, Ego and Superego

Gad... They say the pun is the powest form of humor, and that was low indeed.
But... maybe that would make a line of T-shirts.  "Mr Lobo is my fodder, but I don't have a mudder"  or some such thing...

Watched a couple films on Mr. Lobo's website and you have to see all the extra stuff he does on the program. Old Movie trailers and TV series commercials, product commercials, intermission time clips, skits, and more. Hopefully his show will go national. He seems to be doing a lighter version of Rod Sterling as a strange Horror/Sci-Fi film host. Great stuff..........

That would be nice, after the death of MST3K, the public face of bad movies is hidden.
