And speaking of giant rabbits:

I don't know if it's a fake or not, but that's one big bunny.

I laughed that you called the horde leader "Rabbit Rommel"
Now it's time to sing the nation anthem IN AMERICA!!!

The Burgomaster

I bought this DVD several months ago . . . no collection is complete without it!

Only saw parts of this one in the 70's. Those are some frightful images for sure. Will keep a look out for it. NIGHT OF THE LEPUS belongs right next to FOOD OF THE GODS.

Heh, I liked the "Watership Down" reference :)

Did you knoew DeForest Kelley was named as one of the Worst Actors Ever for his perfomance in "Night of the Lepus"?

Dr. Whom

I think I raised the point before. At one time, some rabbits are shot through the floor by people hiding in the cellar. I always thought they gave very convincing yelps and I didn't think I saw a notice with 'no rabbits were hurt in the making of the movie'. Did someone really shoot at them?

Rabbits are edible.

And guess what? When you eat rabbit stew, the rabbit didn't die of natural causes.

Here's a plan for the sequel. After the rabbits are roasted and destroyed someone comes up with a plan to feed all that rabbit meat to the homeless and with what is bound to happen in a B horror film the homeless that eat the meat are gradually transformed into a mob of cannabalistic human/rabbit hybrid zombies.

Only what would the title be?

And you thought Trek isn't cool.

Night of the Hopping Horror!!!

...and then Nick Park and Steve Box would sue your ass for plagiarizing their movie.

Lepus is just one of those, how shall I put it... essential B-movies. In my mind, a B movie website cannot truly take itself "seriously" (oxymoron) until it has this film in its ranks. Killer Shrews, one lowbudget Bela Lugosi movie/Tor Johnson movie, one giant bug movie, and Night of the Lepus. Billy Jack films earns you extra points though :)

Also, if there's a sequel to be made, the rabbits ought to go up against something like either the Giant Claw or Python.

Very true, I love this movie.   Anything with giant animals is OK by me and this is a joy to watch,
