I saw a TV commercial for this film a couple weeks ago and thought it looked good.

SLIGHT SPOILERS & MONSTER PICS BELOW!!

Where do I begin?

The film does have its good qualities such as excellent cinematography.
I thought the forest and landscape shots looked great.
The cinematographer deserves props and more work in films based on what is shown.
The forest shots are both beautiful and menacing.

I watched this with a buddy of mine.
Throughout my viewing experience of this film I kept thinking one thing and eventually voiced it out loud...and my friend agreed.
I said, "This movie is like a bad ripoff of Pumpkinhead and Jeepers Creepers."

The film is basically about a woman who kills her best friend while drunk driving and is still haunted by it and continues to drink heavily months later.
We see all of that in flashbacks in the first part of the movie..
She's the heroine of the film and she's a park ranger.

A group of American Indian geologists are exploring the nearby forest and use dynamite to blast open a rockface.
They go inside to check it out and are in there for all of two minutes before the monster inside comes sprinting at them from out of the darkness.  The screen then fades to black and all you hear are screams.

That's not to say that "It Waits" isn't without its good moments....It does have a few.
The creature is actually kind of horrifying until it sprouts wings and looks almost exactly like the Creeper from Jeepers Creepers.
That nearly ruined it all for me.

I found the monster far more scary when it was on foot.  It moves fast.
There is a scene when the monster literally bursts out of a cave at lightning speed on foot...the trees it passes are zipping by...its arms are outstretched to both sides while roaring...it is coming for the heroin played by Cerina Vincent.

You might remember her as the girl who shaved the skin off of her legs in Cabin Fever.
Her acting in this film is just OK.
Her boobs are WAY too big for me to believe she's a park ranger.  I couldn't stop staring at her tits and I'm not a breast man.  (the director made sure she wore a low cut top)
She seems more like the type to play the victim in a slasher movie...not a heroine in a monster movie.
I mean, just look at her in that pic above and then try to imagine her taking charge and kicking ass with a rifle and a wisecracking, monster sensing parrot.
Yeah....Right...

This movie goes from bad to good to bad to good and then finally to bad.
There are 3 bad scenes for every good one.

One particularly good scene is when the monster finally corners her in the forest:

The monster takes its claws and pulls a bit of muscle from her right leg while she screams.
It then proceeds to put that meat in its mouth and eat it right in front of her.
That was a really good scene!

But then it goes back to dreadful by including that parrot that utters ridiculous phrases and can sense the monster approaching.
The heroine actually tells the parrot to warn her when the monster comes!
What a bunch of s**t!
I felt like taking the rifle Ms. Vincent has slung over her shoulder for most of the film and blasting that damn bird with it.

Almost as bad is the chick-flick music that comprises most of the score.
I had to take a second look at the back of the DVD to be sure this was directed by a man.
Other reviews have stated that the music would make a Lifetime Channel junkie happy and they weren't kidding.

CINEMA-CRAZED REVIEW

The monster by the way, is an ancient demon summoned by Native Americans.

HORROR BOB'S REVIEW

The review on Cinema-Crazed has the perfect one sentence summary:
"Busty b***h fights monster in forest with her pet parrot."

And that about sums it up.
I give this film one and a half stars out of four for good cinematography and the scene where the creature eats a piece of her leg.

You B-movie lovers should get a real kick out of this film.

I saw this movie and didn't recognize it until part way through your review. It was terrible and you are right, the monster was way too similar to the monster in Jeepers Creepers. Now...about the breasts...where is it written that park rangers can't have big boobs? A park I go to I saw one...of course she was butt-ugly but she did have big boobs...

I retned this one but have yet to watch it.  The trailer I saw on cable looked sufficently cheesy so I figured I'd check it out.

I have no problems with Cerina Vincent.  I happen to be a breast man, and she's quite something to look at.  ;)

A bald man named Savalas visited me last night in a dream.  I think it was a Telly vision.

So somebody bought the monster suit from Jeepers Creepers and made their own movie with it, huh?
