I recently went to my college bookstore to pick up a book when I saw they had some DVDs for 9.99. I picked up Suburbia and this movie Hardcore Logo. It claims to be "Punk Rock Spinal Tap" which of course mean it going to be a "rockumentary".

It starts of as a aging Punk Rock Canadian group Hardcore Logo go on a reunion tour to 5 citites . The band itself has all sorts of problems. one of them has a alcholic/drug problem , other has rockstar dreams and wants to leave the band and a host of other rock cliches.

The biggest problem with the movie is that it suppose to humor like "Spinal Tap". Its really not that funny. I don't know if it was put that way to get a bigger audience but theirs maybe 2 funny scenes in the entire movie. Its not that I don't understand the humor either, I am into Punk Rock. Putting that aside its a much more serious toned movie than "Spinal Tap" and the ending leaves on a tragic note.

I would recommend this but put aside any thoughts of this being funny and you get a solid Rock Movie.

Iv'e never heard of HCLOGO,but is this the same SUBURBIA where Flea sticks a rat in his mouth?! I LOVE THAT movie!!!!  When I first saw it,I was in  my punk -nihilistic-period-(I had just got back from being homless in NYC...back home in Michigan, in the early 80's) and found it really hit the spot. Now I got a house,2 kids, 2nd marriage....god...I feel old...
Supernatural?...perhaps. Baloney?...Perhaps not!" Bela Lugosi-the BLACK CAT (1934)
Interviewer-"Does Dracula ever end for you?
Lugosi-"No. Dracula-never ends."
