Shaving

How often do you shave?

Every day
Two to three times a week
Once a week
Every two weeks
Once a month
I haven't shaved in months!

Ash

I just shaved this morning for the first time in almost 3 weeks.
I was lookin' pretty shaggy.
When your family & friends tell you that you should pick up a razor, it's time to shave!   :tongueout:

I personally dislike shaving.  It's such a pain in the ass and half the time I can't be bothered.
I try to shave every two weeks but sometimes I slack off and go even longer.

Plus, I don't like the way I look clean shaven.  I think I look weird.
That directly contradicts what nearly every ex-girlfriend has said to me...they loved it when I shaved and would touch my face constantly and give me more kisses.
That brings back memories of that old Popeye episode where Olive Oyl sings, "I Want a Clean Shaven Man!"
Remember that one?

I always preferred that "rugged" look.

I have double trouble because I also shave my head.
I use clippers to buzz it down to nothing.  Then I dunk my head in hot water, spread the shaving cream and take the blade to my scalp.  (been doing that for almost 4 years now)
I started losing my hair in my mid 20's.  After at least 10 women advised me to just shave it all off, I obliged.  You know what?  I think it looks ok!
Trust me guys....if you've gone bald or are going bald, just shave it off.
The chicks like it better that way.

As for my face, I usually get around to shaving when it becomes too itchy.

How about you?

BeyondTheGrave

I shave about twice a week my face and head.I'm going bald too and it looks stupid when it starts growing in. The sides of my head look darker and than the top.

I have to shave daily. In about three weeks, I have a full beard. I can't keep the hair on the top of my head; it all falls through and out my chin.

Most of the time I feel like Fred Flintstone or Homer Simpson with their permanent 5 o'clock shadow. I grew my beard out last year, and there was so much gray in it I looked nearly ten years older (What hair I have left on top isn't gray yet except at my temples). When I shaved, several people commented on how much younger I looked.

Shaving is a pain in the neck. My beard is full of gaps and now that most of it is gray I can get by with only shaving every  other day. Although now my whiskers have the feel of razor wire, so I'm not really crazy about growing any facial hair.

And you thought Trek isn't cool.

Shadow

I hate shaving. Luckily, my beard growth is slow and not very thick, so I only shave once a week. While that is nice, it sucks at times cuz I cannot grow a decent beard or mustache.

The FDA has been looking for a generic name for Viagra. After careful consideration by a team of government experts, it recently announced that it has settled on the generic name of Mycoxafloppin. Also considered were Mycoxafailin, Mydixadrupin, Mydixarizin, Dixafix, and of course, Ibepokin.

Usually, I try to shave my face every other week, & my head about once a month.
I was about 23 when I first noticed  a big bright spot on the top of my head, & 25 when I noticed the front was starting to catch up with the back.
Every few years, I'll try to grow a propper pushbroom, but I eventually get tired of combing food out of it.

I always look pretty dopey either way.
One thing I wish somebody would invent, is a razor with a two foot contured handle so that I can shave my back.
I've had it since I was 16.
Funny thing, but some women have told me it looks pretty, 'cause it's red & real thick.
Still, I tend to shed all over the sofa.

So did any of you out there participate in "Movember"?

It was quite the phenomenon this year and the trend seems to be growing, but for one month, from 1 Nov, you start clean shaven, and don't shave until the end of the month.  All in the name of charity for Prostate Cancer and other good causes to do with men.  Raise money etc.

I for one didn't participate as a shavee, but I did donate to a friend's attempt.  I shave probably twice maybe three times a week, but it doesn't really grow that thick to begin with anyways, so I don't have to worry too much.

Oh, and for you constant shavers out there, want to try something different?

My last girlfriend was a beauty therapist and as part of her 'homework' [or so she told me] she waxed my facial hair.  Pain in the ass at first, but you don't actually have to shave properly for a good while afterwards, so if you really hated shaving, that may be an option, though not one I particularly feel I should reccommend.

Men are not allowed to complain about shaving since you just have one area of your body to trim!

Shaving isn't a big deal for me sometimes I forget no biggie.

Yaddo 42

Every day for the past year. I can get away with every other day, and did for years.

My past attempts at facial hair were disasters, luckily with little photo evidence on record. I can grow good mutton chops (like I'd want to) but the rest is patchy and my skin just breaks out worse but the hair grows in too slow to cover it up. It's unfair, on the side of my family that I get most of my physical traits from my blood uncles all have great facial hair, one of them even manages to pull off a Fu Manchu that works.

I'm casually dating a girl right now, if it doesn't pan out into something serious like I'm hoping, then after it's over I told myself to give the beard another shot. The regular shaving may give it a boost.

So my facial hair is pitiful, but at least the hair on my head is holding up, one of my best physical traits I'm told. But when it goes, in my late 40s-early 50s probably from looking at those same uncles, I'll shave it and not worry about.

I shave about 3-4 times a week, used to shave every day, some times twice if we were going out, can't really stand myself with a 2 day growth, developed a heart condition, nothing real serious but I take a blood thinner. Now if I get a nick it just keeps bleeding and since I don't like going out with little pieces of toilet paper stuck to my face I grew a beard and mustache. Only have to shave a small area on each side of my face and on my throat so nicks are now extremely rare. As luck would have it when the beard grew in the hair on the head started to leave, thought about a real short haircut, not quite shaved but real short, had one as a youngster, but my wife says says I have a lumpy head and has threatened to make me sleep in the garage if I get one so I'll kept the one I have.

Personally, I LOATHE to shave. I grew a goatee but it looked flippin' wierd. Wife likes a clean-shaven hubby so 'nuff said on that one

While on a journey, Chuang Tzu found an old skull, dry and parched.
With sorrow, he questioned and lamented the end of all things.
When he finished speaking, he dragged the skull over and, using it for a pillow, lay down to sleep.
In the night, the skull came to his dreams and said, 'You are a fool to rejoice in the entanglements of life.'
Chuang Tzu couldn`t believe this and asked, 'If I could return you to your life, you would want that, wouldn`t you?'
Stunned by Chuang Tzu`s foolishness, the skull replied, 'How do you know that it is bad to be dead?'

Okay...I'm gonna have to agree with your wife on this one. I've seen some pretty lumpy heads out there. For an example there was this principal on a series called Boston Public and it looked like his brain was dieing to get out...it was gross... :buggedout:

:bluesad: The only reason that I only shave on part of my body, is because I can't find a razor with a two-foot long contuored handle.  :hatred: Just because I shed all over the sofa doesn't mean I'm proud of it.

My stepdad gave me an electric razor for Christmas.
I already have one.
Perhaps, he's trying to tell me something.
