The Lunchtime Poll

So I was watching Heathers on DVD earlier and the scene where they take the lunchtime poll got me thinking.

Heather #1 asks...
"You win 5 million dollars from the Publisher's Sweepstakes.  And the same day that Big Ed guy gives you the check, aliens land on the earth and say they're gonna blow up the world in 2 days.  What do you do?"

Well, what would you do?

Well...............you probably wouldn't get to spend the 5 Million Dollar check for a number of reasons. One being nobody would care about cashing it, second it wouldn't be worth anything, and third it would probably take 10 days to clear.

I'd sign the check over to the aliens from Mercury insurance, get in my car, drive to the landing site, ram the invaders ship, and then get Jacoby and Meyers legal network to sue them for everthing they've got, because if they hadn't landed I wouldn't have had to crash into the ship. Given that we live in a country where lawsuits are a way of life, I could probably keep the invaders tied up in court for decades, just the jurisdictional issues would take years.
