TV
Which TV programs do you watch?

I've added, to my (new) Battlestar Galactica addiction, a Heroes addiction.   Dang, that show is entertaining.   :hot:

That, and pro tennis, is about all the use I have for TV, at present.

Professor Hathaway: Up the voltage.

If you're referring to new series:

Doctor Who
WWE Smackdown

Umm, can't think of anything else.

Classic series:

Alfred Hitchcock Presents
The Twilight Zone
(well anything and everything sci-fi, fantasy and horror related I can find, primarily from the 1960s)
"This above all: To thine own self be true!"

Mr_Vindictive

I was thinking about posting a similar thread recently.

Here are the shows I don't miss:

House M.D.
Mythbusters
Nip/Tuck
Secret's Out - Leonard Maltin's show on Reels channel
South Park
Hardware - Great sitcom on BBC America
Monk
Psych

I started watching Battlestar when it first began then missed a couple of episodes and realized that I was completely lost.  I'm sad I didn't follow it more closely.  Same thing happened with 24.  Looks like a kick ass show, but I'm so completely out of the loop with it that I would be lost if I tried to watch it now.

A bald man named Savalas visited me last night in a dream.  I think it was a Telly vision.

It is rare for me to watch TV, other than the news.  When I do, it is usually Battlestar Galactica and the new Dr. Who (Katie DVRs them for me, so I am not lost).  I will watch Mythbusters if I catch it on, or anything interesting on the History Channel or Discovery.

My faves:

Doctor Who
The Amazing Race
The Apprentice
Torchwood
Heroes
Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip
Jericho
America's Next Top Model (the wife got me hooked on this  :teddyr: )
Ghost Hunters
Lost
Survivor
Smallville
Supernatural
Battlestar Galactica
Stargate SG-1
Stargate Atlantis

I'll probably add The Dresden Files to that list. There are other shows, like 24 that I usually wait and watch on DVD.

The FDA has been looking for a generic name for Viagra. After careful consideration by a team of government experts, it recently announced that it has settled on the generic name of Mycoxafloppin. Also considered were Mycoxafailin, Mydixadrupin, Mydixarizin, Dixafix, and of course, Ibepokin.

BeyondTheGrave

The only thing I watch faithfully is NBC thursday night lineup which is:

My Name is Earl
The Office
Scrubs
30 Rock

I watch Aqua Teen Hunger Force but I wait for the dvds most of the time and Masters of Horror.
Most of all I hate dancing then work, exercise, people, stupidpeople

Ah, one to add, when there are new episodes:

Robot Chicken

Battlestar Galactica. -- though the move to 10pm Sunday sucks.

Also, whatever is interesting on History Channel (mostly) or  Discovery (usually just Mythbusters) or the Military Channel or Science Channel, with some National Geographic.
I also watch Iron Chef America & South Park.  Probably about the only network show I watch is The Simpsons.

Post move and dropping cable and not putting up an antenna yet, my TV watching has dropped off. Even shows I like that I can still pick up from the networks have lost much of their appeal to me. I still like most of them but am almost indifferent if I don't see them, the network stuff in the second group of shows below.

Show I like and actively watch:

Lost - but I'm losing patience, the first few episodes when it comes back better be awesome, or I'm gone.
The Knights of Prosperity
In Case of Emergency
- both are decent time wasters on Wed, kind of a dead day for me, between cooking dinner, doing chores, or reading. Besides one has Kelly Hu!!!
History Detectives/American Experience - They occupy the same timeslot at different seasons of the year.
Soundstage - but it depends on who is performing, plus they rerun it about the time I get home from work.
The This Old House Hour - Actually like the second half better when they answer questions from viewers, since I'm in a new house, they deal with subjects of interest to me more than restorations or remodelling.
Da Vinci's Inquest - good time waster on Saturday when I'm not out of the house. Haven't seen it as much lately (a good thing), but I like the believability of the stories solving the deaths mixed with the frustrations of lack of evidence or cooperation, bureaucracy, lack of funds, resources, politics, etc.
Plus some local and national news.

Ones I watch not so much or would still watch if I had cable:

Most of the anime on Adult Swim
Mythbusters
Countdown with Keith Olbermann
Avatar: the Last Airbender
The Daily Show
The Colbert Report
My Name is Earl
The Office
Scrubs
- but still catch reruns off and on
House - comes on while I'm at work I don't get a clear enough signal to tape it, maybe soon.
reruns of Yes, Minister/Yes Prime Minister - ditto. Mostly want to see all the eps of this brilliant political satire.

I do watch the DVDs of series like Deadwood, Rome, and The Sopranos. but I rent them and burn through them in about a week when a new season comes out, so it's like a series of short films rather than TV to me. I've been slowly working way through the new version of Doctor Who from copies made from a friend of a friend's DVDs of the BBC airings. Still have about half of David Tennet's first season to go, hope he sticks around for a while.

Came back to fix some jumbled writing and spelling.
blah blah stuff blah blah obscure pop culture reference blah blah clever turn of phrase blah blah bad pun blah blah bad link blah blah zzzz.....

There is not much I watch on television anymore; quite a contrast to many years ago.

When I can catch it, I love Da Vinci's Inquest.

Most of what I will catch occasionally are:

Grey's Anatomy

Boston Legal

and an occasional sitcom like My Name is Earl or How I Met Your Mom

There is no show I have to watch.

I did like Hell's Kitchen when it was on.

I'm really heavy into Rome right now.
I've been recording each episode of season 2 onto DVD.
Read about each character here

Whatever you do...don't talk bad about the 13th Legion!
WATCH THIS AWESOME GLADIATOR FIGHT BETWEEN PULLO AND SEVERAL MEN

I love The First 48 on A&E.
It is one of the most riveting real-life detective shows I've ever seen.

Hell's Kitchen with Gordon Ramsay.  Some of the insults that come out of his mouth toward his apprentice chefs and the customers leaves me in stitches.   :teddyr:

Other favorites are American Justice and Cold Case Files.

I'm a huge History Channel watcher and never miss an episode of Shootout!, The Lost Evidence or the incredibly awesome Dogfights.

And please don't Boo me whan I say that I am totally addicted to American Idol!
I got hooked on it three years ago and can't stop watching it.  God help me!

As for game shows, you can't get much better than Cash Cab

Acidburn

There are a few that are a must watch for me each week.

House M.D. (One of the best shows ever made)
Smallville (Last week was the start of the Justic League..whoot)
Heroes  (very cool show)
24 (This season is my favorite so far)
Lost (Like was said earlier, when this airs again in feb, it better be great)
Ghosthunters (Big fan)
And my wife is a Reba superfan, so I have to sit through on hour of that each day.  :hatred:
