I bought "Sweeney Todd - The Demon Barber Of Fleet Street" yesterday afternoon.

How's the quality of this print?

I've got a couple of versions and both are terrible. One is almost unwatchable.

I do love Slaughter's version of the story. His Sweeney is pure hand-rubbing, snickering genius.

The version I bought is an "All Region codes" disc which I think was released specifically for the U.K market. The picture quality itself is watchable enough considering the age of the movie but there is quite a lot of 'snowstorm' visible throughout the film. You're right, Todd Slaughter's performance is terrifc!
There are few things more beautiful than a sporting montage with a soft-rock soundtrack

The Assault - Melissa Braselle is in it. Hey, I'm there!
Fear Chamber (1968) - looks lusciously bad.
The Ring - couldn't resist for one cent plus $2.98 shipping.
Starship Troopers 2 - hey, this is a good movie - I don't care what the other 99% of people who have seen it say!

TheDope

A combination of films gotten from the holidays and with holiday loot:

Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl (w/Lost Disc from Wal-Mart pack)
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
Iron Man
Star Wars: The Clone Wars
Wall*E
Planet Terror (2-Disc Special Edition)
Invasion USA (1985 - Chuck Norris goodness!)
The HitchHiker's Guide to the Galaxy (The Movie) - a perfect companion to my TV miniseries discs.
First Blood
Cannibal Ferox
The Incredible Hulk
Charlotte's Web
Dark Night of the Scarecrow - yes, the one with Charles Durning and Larry Drake, and it is good.

...Merry Giftmas to ME! :bouncegiggle:

TheDope: bringing the conversation to a grinding halt since 2002.

Ordered the James Bond Ultimate Edition Volume 4 today - Dr. No / You Only Live Twice / Octop***y / Tomorrow Never Dies / Moonraker. All with frame-by-frame restorations, all with second disks full of special features, and all with 5.1 surround sound! Whoopee! Too bad Amazon says it usually ships in 10-14 days :bluesad:

That looks like the Alpha Video release, probably the best of the lot.

If you're an Andy Milligan fan there's no hope for you.

WHOA! GOOD STUFF FOR REALLY CHEAP!! iLL haver to go check out that website.

actually, i don't think that moviestop runs a proper website. you'll just find them in strip malls and whatnot. they're a sister store to gamestop, so if you don't have a moviestop, sometimes gamestop has a couple of racks of cheap dvds that they take in as trades. check it out, either way.

Sister Grace

Spiral- I picked this up for sale at Movie Gallery for ten bucks. I really liked it, suspensful and creepy. I know alot of people hated this movie, but i thought it was great and yes i'll admit that i cried at the end...
I have this wierd obsession with Joel Moore which may have skewered my opinion of this movie; but i still recommend checking it out.
Society, exactly as it now exists is the ultimate expression of sadomasochism in action.
-boyd rice-
On the screen, there\\\'s a death and the rustle of cloth; and a sickly voice calling me handsome...
-Nick Cave-

Extra weird sampler

i presume you mean something weird's "extra weird sampler". that's a lot of fun, there. if you don't already have them, you'd probably enjoy the "42nd street forever" series from synapse.

I wish companies would release more of these trailer compilations. I have the first 3 from the 42nd Street Forever series and am waiting for the fourth to drop later this month. And Something Weird's sampler was a hoot. I wouldn't mind finding some of those treasures to watch.

I take no responsibility for brain damage or frustration caused by this set. It is a set of movies basically dubbed from old VHS copies. You actually get to see the tracking problems from time to time, but most of this crap you can't find anywhere else. Then again, were you really looking for a copy of "Demon Witch Child" (a personal favorite after having seen it in this collection)?

Psycho Circus

The Hot Spot (DVD to replace VHS)
Miami Blues
To Live & Die In L.A.
Jacob's Ladder (2008 copy)
