I had the pleasure of seeing Jackie McLean twice with his quartet in the late 80's at a little jazz club in Hollywood called the Catalina Bar and Grill.

I really loved Rubber Factory and (to a lesser extent) thickfreakness. I listened to samples and saw one performance from their last 2 albums but wasn't crazy about what I heard. If you like them do try Rubber Factory. It's very stripped down, just drum, guitar and vocals.

Awesome power-thrash three piece band. For fans of Prong, Grip Inc., Hallow's Eve, Sepultura and Testament

For all of their faults (and there are a number), I still listen to the first two Iron Maiden albums from time to time. I think nostalgia for my formative "metal head" years in the 80's has something to do with it. Yet, there are plenty of bands I liked during that time that I can't stand to listen to now. Hmmm. Head scratcher.

MICHAEL JACKSON Off The Wall

That IS a pretty good album. I was ahead of it's time when consider that it came out in 1979. Sure it had a disco slant (it was 1979 for cryin' out loud) but I think it showed a sophistication that transcended that genre.

Nothing wrong with a little brilliantly played flamenco once in a while.
